Thanks so much for your extensive reply!
That's really helped get an insight - I was worried that the glossy handouts and letters and taster days could have all been just the surface impression that the university and school of engineering gave out... but it seems like it's similar in the students' points of view as well, so (touch wood) no nasty surprises for me
And you'll be pleased to know that I have literally just firmed Brunel on the UCAS site!
Thanks again for your honest opinion and for taking the time to talk me through your experience. I'd like to say "see you there" but I almost certainly won't - you'll be all finished with your course by the time I arrive I should think!
Good luck in all your future endeavors and enjoy your summer break ^_^
Oh that'd be great actually, if you don't mind!
How do you find the School of Engineering? Are you happy in the environment you work in and is the department helpful and approachable?
How do you find the university itself? I've heard there are a lot of people there who are there just to have a good time and it isn't nice living in halls... Also there's a thread on here called "Brunel is crap, don't come here", I don't know whether you've seen/read through it but it's a bit worrying since I'm considering putting down Brunel as my first choice!
Hey, Rob. I noticed you're down as a designer on your 'about me' occupation... Are you by any chance a product or industrial design student at Brunel?
