  1. Yes that's fine. It may take some time as my boyfriend has all of my notes! so yes, send me the essay and i'll look over it for you do a question from one of the past papers and tell me from what year
  2. I won't write you a model essay as it would be pointless; you wouldn't learn from it. I'm revising for some retakes I have in January so don't have a lot of time on my hands. Write me an essay and I will mark it, even if you think it's rubbish it's probably not as bad as what you think. Try and spend the recommended time limit on the question rather than an hour. This way it will be a true depiction of how you perform under timed conditions.
  3. I don't have any I'm afraid :/ I gave all of my sociology stuff to my boyfriend as he's doing a third year and took up A level sociology! Basically to analyse would be to discover the meaning behind what a sociologist has said. For example, in an exam you may be able to recall a quote, or use the item and analyse what a particular sentence means. Interpretation should be the easiest marks to get! It's explaining and elaborating upon a statement. Evaluation marks are also easy marks you get these from using connecting words and criticising arguments "In contrast, X strongly disagrees with the above and says B is ideologically bias because bla bla bla" basically critically examine the opposing arguments. If you start each paragraph with words like 'in contrast', 'opposing this', 'strongly disagreeing' etc and following it with a criticism of the argument in the previous argument then you will get evaluation marks. Plus also in your conclusion, there should be a lot of evaluation in it. The key to thinking like this is to think of your essay as an argument and each paragraph as a different point of view. Each argument has strengths and weaknesses. If you need help with a particular essay I can help, I just don't have my folder and my textbooks to hand!
  4. is this mehanz from swanshurst school.
  5. Erm... all i remember is that one short question was like 'how has the role of the new media changed' I think it may have been like 6/9 marks or something. A lot of people got confused by how it was worded. I did an essay on the social construction of the media (can't remember how it was worded but it wasn't just a straight forward one on news I don't think) and I have a feeling there was an essay on age something to do with youth I believe. I remember it was quite hard to score marks on but a fair paper. Still managed to get an A in it though!
  6. yeah I did, why?
  7. Yep, no worries. If you make a thread in AAM (http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=266) with a link to what you want deleting, I'll sort that out for you
