I just realised how narrow minded and naive my post on "chavs" was, particularly as I don't really have any business commenting on it as I'm Australian and am removed from the social problem. Thankyou for calling me out on it!!

I don't actually think that all intellectuals are snobs, it was just a stupid thing that I didn't think about before writing. And is pretty hypocritical as I'm pretty good at school myself (trying not to sound up myself ha ha).

I guess that point I was trying (rather unsuccessfully as I didn't pause to think about it properly - strike to me) was that I expect that not all chavs are like this and are chavs merely because they were born into that socio-economic framework.
I'm sorry that you witnessed such things on account of chavs. I had no idea it was that bad, we have people that are similar here in Australia, we call them bogans, but they are more closely related to american rednecks than what I view as a "chav".

Also I can't believe that people can't let go of past prejudices!! Though the past can be argued to be significant in interpreting the future, the people of today are their own people - not those of the past. Horrid stereotypes!

Sorry if this is rather scrambled, I've been up all night because I got addicted reading a book and finished it ha ha. Then ended up online.
