I hated HSW works aswell haha.. just a case of doing lots of practice questions and thinking about exactly what they're showing you/asking... try highlighting key information in the question, as they won't tell you something if its not relevent.

And i had a quick scan through the notes... personally for me, I don't think its something I would have used as they seemed to go into quite a bit of irrelevent detail. Maybe use them in conjunction with a revision book too?

Hiya, its been almost a year since I did biol1 so I don't really remember anything specific. All I can suggest is using the CGP and Nelson thorne revision books and making sure you know the content inside out. Make sure you memorise the notes you make, do past papers and make notes of the wording they specifically ask for, go through the mark schemes like theres no tomorrow (:P), and learn all the definitions which could trip you up if you dont get the wording right.
