  1. I have just completed two part-time post-graduate courses in succession as a mature student, one self-funded and the other funded though my firm.

Back in the day, I was educated at a state school and read law at university with a full local authority grant. Tuition fees were things that foreigners paid. I then went to law school. My local authority paid my course fees and gave me a full discretionary grant. I also held a private scholarship throughout. At university, I claimed Housing Benefit during the terms and Unemployment Benefit during the long vacs. My contemporaries and I stagged privatisation share issues (before this was forbidden) with our grant monies.

I left law school with a fair amount of savings.

"The past is a foreign country. They do things differently there"

My final comment is this. I, and my contemporaries, have been contributing to our alumni fund virtually since the day we graduated. We have the highest alumni donation rate of any higher education institution in Europe.
  2. That is fine. I am going to university next year to study economics at Bristol and I am currently in a job.

I would reccomend that you look up a video, with a Nobel Prize winning economist, Milton Friedman on the topic of higher education on you-tube. Probably better to quote him rather than me.
  3. You can if you wish xx
  4. Sure, go ahead.

I am a first year undergraduate at Oxford, Computer Science.
  5. Hi,
Feel free to use what you like. I'm a third year Psychology student, graduating in July.
