I've double checked with the department, and for Chemical Engineering, to take a study abroad year would increase the duration to 5 years (for the MEng, 4 years for BEng). This is to do with the accreditation from the Institute of Chemical Engineers. For some courses (such as Mechanical Engineering), it is possible to study abroad and still only study for 4 years - as you're replacing one year at Leeds with a year at specific institutions globally. For Chemical Engineering there are no institutions which "match-up" which would enable students to complete in 4 years, with an accredited MEng - meaning the course would have to be 4 years long + one SA year.

Thanks for your message, I was advised that studying abroad in the Chem Eng MEng would increase the programme to 5 years duration by the faculty themselves, but I will double check with them.

Awesome. Guess its not a subject where you can keep missing lectures due to being too tired from the night before? :P

I guess in the end it'l pay off. What uni's did you apply to?
I'm applying to Sheffield, Nottingham, Bristol, Swansea and UWE. Foundation courses mainly, I think apart from UWE. What you think?

I've overheard so many people condemning that don't go for UK as you won't be getting an employment or working opportunities.. They rather recommend everyone to go for Canada or Australia. I'm so perplexed :l
