Hehe. Maybe quite similar. But then again I guess a lot of people at Cam are in the academic aspect and I didn't quite make even that. I was hoping at the time I'd be pooled to join you at Queens but it doesn't matter now much anyways. Divergence always seems unavoidable and I'm more than happy not having to do any quasi-biology modules now and such.

Oh yeah. That's nice to hear. Never give up indeed! Unless it's 3AM and you're still stuck on a Gold/Rg C3L6 question of course. Even I accept defeat there
I don't actually have a personal Mantra though really. There are so many really lucid yet awesome quotes that I like it'd be hard to pick just one. Something about engineering bad situations into good ones would be nice though.

(fwiw when doing my exam my instructor had told me his own daughter was studying at "University college Cambridge." I thought it might have been better not to have pressed that questionable point further though at the time. ha!)

mmm. I'm doing well. Dull "family holiday" to Wales aside, it was good fun, and I also greatly enjoyed being in the audience as I saw them record an episode of University Challenge. Going back to school is always the hardest bit though for me. Every couple of days into the summer holidays I always seem to start missing school, which is a strange idea right now I seem rather bored of it and have already tied up any remaining lose ends left there. It's as if more than ever I'm just there to get my exams done now. mheh.

Hey amigo!

Couldn't help but see your driving test woes and I thought I'd share (not another story as such. I can't top the kitten one ^^ ) my own experience.

Yeah, I actually failed my driving test the first time too. It was such a pain for me too back when it happened I was hardly used to failing anything at all, let alone twice which I did two months later, and as you say, re-tests and filler lessons can be awfully expensive too.
But thankfully I passed 3rd time (even though the examiner still wanted to fail me for driving so slowly and picking up 3 minors for speed. I almost had to prize the certificate from his hands. ha!) and once you pass, which you surely will in the end, I'm sure everything will turn out alright.
With last November, failing my drivers test and my pre-interview Cam rejection, I can't remember a time I felt more cynical and depressed about life, but it does go on. Even now I have my three driving examiner reports blu-tac'd above my bed at night to remind me that it's not the failure that matters, but how you bounce back from it (and also because those pieces of paper might as well be 24 carat gold leaf for all they cost me!)
It's a drag that you seemed to have such a poor examiner. But that stab of pure joy comes when he says you've passed, I'm sure everything will be alright in the end.
And worst come to worst; you won't need a car at Cam
