I don't use UNIX unless I have to as it confuses me... I have friends who develop for Ubuntu and Debian to help me with that stuff... I'd say pick any of them and install the appropriate packages?

Hey, you seem to know a bit about unix, I'm wondering if you could help me with my problem:

I get 2 boot windows. The first is windows saying "windows 7 or ubuntu" and after windows 7 it loads up. But after ubuntu I then get ubuntu, previous version of ubuntu and memory test. I'd be hoping to just have one menu, with the windows option and all 3 ubuntu options on the same menu.

After ubuntu it goes to grub, but I can't get grub to come first. I've tried turning off the windows selection, but that just flashes up for a second then loads in windows...

I think I've just installed grub2...but it's hard to tell.
