Yes, definetly showing how umpredictable- I'm really happy for you though, its so incredible that you have Imperial, I can't imagine how you must be feeling, and thanks for helping me out! So you actually had 4 interviews then!! Wow. My UKCAT is next week, I just hope that goes well, as you said admissions seems more important.
Oh, that is so reassuring, I didn't do too many resits- only 2 A2 ones, and 2 AS ones.
Is there any other advice you can give? I was wondering, how do you feel now that you've had your gap year? Are you glad that you had a gap year?
Thank you- hope I havent been bothering you too much! xx

i applied to Barts, Liverpool and St georges too, i got offers from liverpool and St georges,
i had a really good interview at Barts (well....in my opinion) but still got REJECTED! :O , shows you how unpredictible it all is!
I sat SOOOO MANY, lol i had like 4 resits in Jan and 3 in July, dont stress about that, i think the only universities that care are UCL and oxbridge (I THINK)
so dont worry , as long as you get the grades that are needed in 2 years....your fine...
in fact some unis (i think Leeds ) look are re-applicants more favouribly...
I started my PS from scratch, its a new year, new you....and with the practice of the previous year i think i bossed it....I DO RECOMMEND using the student room PS helpers....THERE SOOOOO GOOD....
dont worry bout it...i got this help from others on here....just sharing the love next year youll be doing the same :P

basically....my first application:
6 weeks at care home
1 day with pharmaceutical sales rep
1 day with chiropodists...
on my 2nd application
6 months at care home (continued it through my a-levels....just in case i got 4 rejections....guess it was a smart idea)
1 day with pharmaceutical sales rep
1 day with chiropodists...
1 week at pharmacy
1 week at dentists
2 months with a radiographer (which is currently ongoing ....)
shadowing a cardiologist in november 2011 (which i did)
UCAS 2012:
A2 GRADES (ACHIEVED):
General studies: A
Business studies: A
Maths:. A
Chemistry: A
Biology: A
UKCAT: 627.5
BMAT: 5.5 4.9 4A
ok....number 1 get more work experience....make the most outta your gap year!
number 2 concentrate on nailing them A-levels
now....apply tactically...you want to go to imperial/kings....then thats 2 choices....realistically....you need a GREAT UKCAT!....somewhere in the reigon of 690+ to get an interview at kings with your gcse's....if its over 700 you'll defo get an interview....so prepare for it!!!
as for the BMAT....take it...its kind of academic and prepare like you would a normal exam....as long as you get the cutoff your guarenteed an interview!
your grades are fine!....just organise your year right!....but the key thing here is the admissions exams and work experience!

Thanks for replying!
I think I have quite a bit work experience I think, I've got:
Over a year volunteering at a Nursing home
Over 2 years with St John Ambulance
3 weeks with a GP
Week with a Psychiatrist
I'm currently volunteering at my local hospital - doing the Impressions survey
I did an academic research project on Schizophrenia..
Anyways, I'm currently 'revising the UKCAT,' the best that I can - how did you revise for?! I have the 600 book, I'm just working my way through that really. How long did you start revising for it?
Also, for GCSE I have 9 A*'s, it was my AS that let me down (my school is literally crap- our coursework results were soo bad!) and my UKCAT was 610 last year :/ I saw that you got into Imperial (major congratulations!!), I hope to try and get there, could I ask what were your academia, and what you did? Do Uni's look at ur AS grades, once you have achieved grades?
I've gone through a range of feelings, from disappointed to not getting in first time, to happy with a gap year.. I just need to nail this UKCAT! And obviously hope I have got the grades!
Thank you very much again! (And sorry for all the questions) x

alright kiran
no worrys,
basically get some more work experience, you cant go wrong with more work exp and it helps build your PS and gives you more to talk about at interview!!!
now....the bmat ukcat? ...where you thinking of applying?....make sure you know the Cut-offs, what equates to a good chance of interview, and BE REALISTIC.....DO NOT ...DOOOOOOOOONOTTTTTT apply to kings with a ukcat of like 400 and 1A* at gcse....just cos you want to go there....the admissions tests are MORE important than your actual grades!!!!! so make sure you revise, and whatever you get apply tactically!
(btw the UKCAT is a load of balls...hate that exam lol)
but yeh....if you want any more help holla
