What can you do with a philosophy degree?

I've looked on uni websites and they're a bit vague and very general. If I get a 2:1 or 1st at a decent uni, what am I likely to be able to do?

Are there any philosophy graduates on here who are in graduate jobs (or not)? Was it the one you always wanted? Or do you know anyone who is?

you can be incredibly pretentious about anything you choose

Some say this is the toughest question in the realms of philosophy.
You could go into teaching other people philosophy I suppose. Or write a book.
It's not what you can do, it's what you want to do.

well, ive been thinking about this too, and basically, im pretty sure its a really good starting block for further study...

and it sounds quite intellectual, which employers like; you can obviously think for yourself...

plus the field of work for some other subjects is quite limited, ie: english lit, history... i kinda feel its on the same par, its an arts degree and you could end up anywhere.
plus if youre considering studying it, you must be interested and will enjoy it.
A degree is a degree at the end of the doris.

Contemplate you're future prospects and think about how people doing such degrees are wasting their time

Lol at the philosophical answers.
Ermm... well isn't it fairly similar to other arts degrees such as History, so if you wanted you could do a Law conversion course or something? Or yeah, teaching. A chef?
