thatll do. i got the symbol in word but it wouldnt copy to explorer

The same alt-codes would work though- it's just windows that needs to interpret the input.

I have a US keyboard and have to type in alt +156 to get a £-sign, and the same code on a UK keyboard would give you the same result.
