The psychodynamic approach is solely Freuds. He proposed that abnormal behaviour was due to internal conflict.
-Proposed three personality structures
-Id: irrational. Primitive. Pleasure principle
-Ego. Rational. Develops in year 1. Reality principle.
-Superego. The conscience. Develops between three and six.
-Abnormal behaviour due to suppressed memories, conflicts between id and ego.
-Abnormal behaviour is all unconscious.

Evaluating the psychodynamic approach

-Bergin (1971) found that 75% of people respond to psychtherapy
-Freuds' theory was sexist
-It relies too much on abstract principles
-However, modern psychodynamic approach is no longer sexist
-Freud's theory cannot be applied to everyone
-Is undisprovable:behaviour that is conducive to the theory is said to support it; behaviour that does not is said to be due to ego defences.

It is better to have an easy exam wtih high grade boundaries than a difficult exam with low grade boundaries. Even though the weighing that is done to sort the UMS will probably be the same the former is better because you can make absolutely sure that what you have done, you have done right. :yep:


A lot of the time I tend to do better, especially with maths, in really difficult exams that I think I've done awfully on than ones I think I've done ok in because I tend to make loads of silly mistakes in easier exams. :o: I suppose it depends which way you look at it though
I've actually done quite a lot of history today :smile: Just have to hope for a nice paper ...
