Heriot-Watt Accommodtion pics

Hi guys, I thought that this may be of interest to some of you who are getting ready to move into Halls next month. I was desperately trying to find pictures last year to have an idea of what to expect with no success !!

These pictures are from Robert Bryson Hall, 211 (the layout was slightly different due to being in the corner I think), but they are all pretty similar in appearance anyways:

Breeze blocks make the room look so cold, oh yeah and why is the bed so small? :s-smilie:

To be honest, it was pretty awkward for finding a angle to get a decent pic, but they are kinda small, think it's pretty uch an average single bed though?

That was probably the biggest thing personally on move in day, made it feel kinda prison-y ... Although, you can plaster posters and stuff all over the walls (and not paying extra for heating helps - crack the radiator full 24/7 and its nice and cosy:smile: )
I'm considering applying for 2011 entry and I was just wondering where the best accommodation is? I'm not particuarly picky however, breeze blocks and shared bathroom facilities won't really put me in the best state of mind for learning. Apologies if I come across like a snobbish southerner :p: .

Kind regards

Edit: Just found that the only self-catered en-suite bedrooms are at Morgan Court. Does anyone know if this accommadation is high in demand?

The pics are from Robert Bryson, that's one of the self-ctered en-suite halls. I have to say, within about a week, I was totally used to it, and ended up absolutely loving me wee room, but it does have the prison/hospital look about it when you first get in lol

I've never heard of Morgan Court before though, is it on-campus at Heriot-Watt your looking at?
The bed picture looks like a prison :lolwut:

I just read in the contract that you're not allowed to put stuff up on the wall. Does anyone know if this is practically the case or if this is just rulebook nonsense? Not that I don't like the lovely walls, but I was planning on covering my walls with posters, so that sort of messes things up.
I never want to go there. It looks like a prison.

It's only a prison if you make it such. I'm sure you can make it look decent with some posters (if that is allowed) or whatever decor you are used to.

Nah they don't reinforce it at all ... They actually do a poster sale in Freshers (least they used to) for students in Hlls to get things to decorate their rooms

That's great news, I really do love my posters and beer coasters!
