I want to go clubbing, but I have no one to go with

I'm 19 and I've never been clubbing before. I would like to, but I've somehow managed to drift away from most of my old friends from school, and I don't really hang round with them much anymore. And the ones I've asked to go clubbing with, they always have some excuse like they have no money or something. I think maybe they're just boring though. Like, how much can it cost to go just once at least?

What else can I do? I am a loner who often goes places on my own, which I don't mind too much normally but I'm not sure it's very safe to go clubbing by myself? Help!

By the way I'm not at uni and I don't plan to go, at least not any time soon.

Anon as this is a little embarrassing.

If you want to go clubbing on your own, just go.
In bringing my friends along, I would be massively decreasing my odds of pulling, which, let's be honest is the reason why people go clubbing in the first place.
(At least, that's my impression from experience).

I'm 17 and I hate clubbing on it's own (it was exactly what I thought it would be like) but I wish you the best of luck in your quest for a good night out.

I shall go clubbing with you, as long as you promise not to grope me.
Why would you want to go clubbing on your own? It will be rubbish! It is only good if you go with friends. If i saw someone there on their own, i would think they were a bit weird. (sorry just my opinion!)

It really isn't all it's cracked up to be. I wouldn't waste your time.

Why?

How have you been clubbing if you're only 17?

if your not at uni, do you work? You could ask people at work.

tbh, clubbing isn't that fantastic anyway, it can be a good night out but its the people that make it good.

It's difficult to read the birth date correctly on a provisional driver's licence in low light. Particularly when somebody has written in black pen over the top of it.
Tbh if your a bit of an introvert clubs probably wont be your thing.

Anyway for me in Birmingham....

Mega cheap night. Bus in (child fare), 3 pints, find girl and get her to pay for taxi back to yours. £6

Cheap night. Bus in, £10 with 10 free drinks, bus out. £11.80.

Average night. Bus in, £20-30 on clubs, food, shared taxi home. £35

Stupid night. A couple of times year over £100.

No I don't work. I would like to, but I am very much struggling to find a job. I do go to college though, but I'm not really that close to anyone there.

Chilling in a bar with friends > Clubbing.

I hate almost everything about clubbing, the only thing I enjoy is spending time with friends, I would much rather chill in a bar with them and be able to converse. Bar wins every time.
The only place in the world worse than TSR to ask about clubbing would be a rohypnol manufacturers forums.

95% of answers will fall into one of two categories:
1) People who don't like clubbing (or club music, or socialising, or going out in public, or more than one of the preceeding) who will tell you not to bother.
2) People who think the only purpose of clubbing is to get drunk and pull randoms (which admittedly is why most uni students go).

Grown-up clubbing is about the music, so go find a genre of club music you like to listen to, and then go to a club night that plays it (either on your own, which is find for music-oriented clubbing, or convince one of your friends by getting them into the music first.

I've been to a bar a few times, and I've actually found it a bit boring to be honest. I'm someone who enjoys dancing and dance music, so I am curious to know what it is like at a club. Is that why you don't like it, because you're not a party person?

Depends on the club but usually a big open space rammed with people, flashing lights, loud music and blured vision (due to drink)

this is where i go a lot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i4VtXl2e7g&feature=channel_video_title

^ sums it up lol

Fair. I'm not a 'clubbing' person, no. I'm not generally a fan of dance music and I'm not particularity a fan of dancing. I'd rather converse with friends in a more relaxed environment. If you think you'd enjoy it, then I have nothing against you going. Anyway, back to your problem. I'm sure most people will be too drunk/busy to really notice if you are alone. I must add, however, being with friends would heighten your enjoyment of it quite a lot. I'm unsure if you would get the same satisfaction from being alone, unless you can befriend a group of people. :dontknow:

Go clubbing by yourself. You don't need a "wingman" or any of that stuff
