We take a lot of inspiration (or you could actually say we "copy") Delirious.. their music is just awesome :-)

I listen to a variety of Christian music in most genres. I like hymns as well as new music. I do listen to Newboys and Jeremy Camp a lot. It helps when you're feeling down, as we all get discouraged sometimes. Reading my Bible, praying, listening to Christian music, and talking to other Christians really helps to keep me going. We all need a refresher sometimes.

Is Christian rock, rap, pop etc simply not taken from the "worldly" - that is, influenced by "Satan".

Could many of you be in danger of hypocrisy and falling under the influence of "Satan" in "Christian" music??

The Bible doesn't talk about rock music...

The Bible does say to be careful what comes from our mouths, which would influence lyrics. I don't recall the Bible talking about the tune of the music itself. Besides, music doesn't have to be "worldly" so to speak. The world does not have monopoly over music. In fact, the Bible says to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. We are to praise him. It doesn't matter what the tune of it is as long as the song does not glorify sin. It doesn't have to be worship (though I do like worship), but God does ask that we be careful how we speak. I think it goes back to the words more than anything.

If an artist is a Christian that will probably naturally come through in their music, because music is a part of who we are. There's nothing wrong with that.

Music can also be a great tool to reach people, because they can see that music can be Christian and still be upbeat at the same time.

This is a great soft rock American group called Splender that I used to listen to growing up in the late nineties. Whilst some of their songs explicitly mention God and Jesus, I never thought of them as Christian rock in those days, but listening back to them now, it's evident that this is pretty much what they are.

Unfortunately they disbanded in the early 2000's, although there has been talk of a revival for a few years now. They released two studio albums which I own both :biggrin:

Even though I'm not Christian, their songs are very happy and ubeat, and usually put me in a good mood.

Absolutely... Christian music just doesn't go with rock/metal bands - not only do they make bad music, they just can't convey the message at all...

I am as much a fan of other forms of music, but Christian music just has to be classical;

I'm sorry if it is offensive, but newfangled music just doesn't seem to have the heart and soul of the traditional kind. In my opinion, and it is just that - if it isn't fit to be played at the Mass then it isn't fit to be Christian Music.
