Has anyone received an offer from Dundee yet? On the website, it says that they'll not be giving out offers until mid Jan but then I seen somewhere else that they are currently giving offers? :s-smilie:

I read on the website that they're not giving out offers until january, and then I read somewhere on here that they have started giving offers out so i don't know. It's the only one i've not heard from though.

Maybe it depends on what course you're applying for
Applying for Law.

Dundee isn't my first choice though.

Ah right ok, how much are they on average?
And which ones are you staying in? I've been on the website to look at the accommodation there, on pictures etc and there's only about 6 different ones. Is that all there is? And some of the pictures look a bit dated and don't do it any favours! haha.

I'm in Belmont Tower! I'm in a standard room and it costs around £4,469; not sure how much premier rooms are but it's a wee bit more. Personally, i'm not sure premier rooms are worth it, although you get a bigger wardrobe and a slightly larger bathroom.

West Park accomodation is cheaper, although it's the same quality as on-campus; but it is quite a trek from uni, especially in the winter. In the evenings though, they run a mini bus between the union and west park, which is really handy

There's Belmont flats, Belmont tower, Healthfield, Seabraes and West Park; but they all have loads of rooms. The Hub is private, but it's just over the road, not bad at all.

Oh yeah, the pictures on the website make the bathrooms look a lot nicer than they are!!! They are like a portaloo with a shower, no joke! The bathrooms really let the accomodation down, imo! Will have to get a few pictures up to warn you all

How much does that work out per week? (approximately)
And yeah, you should upload a few pics to give us a clear image of what they actually look like instead of those very deceiving pics on the website! haha.
What's the actual Uni like overall, do you like it? Are you in first year?
And also, what's the nightlife like in dundee? I've heard it's a little quiet?

Thankyou! - I'll take a look at Belmont Tower now!

i'm not sure how much it works out to be weekly; will have to take a look at my bill  i'll find it tomorrow  although the monthly deductions vary by a couple of pence each month.

i'm loving the uni! everyone is really friendly, both on campus and off. dundee has a bit of a bad rep, but it's a nice city. and quiet? oh god no  it's definitely more of a partying uni than some of the others; if you're not into that sort of thing you might not enjoy dundee, but for me it's great  there's a few places in town where you can go out, obviously not as much as you'd get in glasgow or edinburgh, but for the size of dundee you really can't complain  and the union is really good for a night out too

In town, there's Liquid, Fat Sam's and Underground; Liquid is the most popular amongst my friends   they're all fairly close to the uni too, which is good! love the union though! you have to be a student, or get signed in by a student, so you avoid the weirdos haha! there's also a casino and loads of bars, some really nice ones aswell; but my favourite one has closed now :frown: i haven't been on a night to glasgow or edinburgh yet, but lots of people i know have, so there's no real difficulty getting there  the campus is a good size! it's not huge (although it feels huge at first!) and it's easy to get around

ah right cool! seems good  How far are Glasgow and Edinburgh from Dundee, I presume it's about an hour to both? Is there much to do in Dundee other than go out?! :P What course are you studying?

Dundee is going to be my insurance if I get an offer. (hopefully I will) - but I will probably end up there as I'm not confident on getting into Leeds! haha
