@grizzlybär, thegodofgod: Thanks for help.

@thegodofgod:
Englishman -> Engländer (not "Englischer"!)

Nevertheless, your German is good.
If you will carry on (or go on?), your German will be better than my English.

Ich habe das Wort gänzlich vergessen :colondollar:

Danke schön für die Anerkennung :smile:

Nochmal würde man "will" mit einem "if" Gliedsatz nicht sagen - ich weiß aber nicht warum :tongue:

Cheers! Or shall I say Danke!

:rant:

ah,interessant. Ich werde beide benutzen.
does anyone know the opinions of NPD(nationdemokratische Partei Deutschlands)?
im struggling to find the answer
Ok, so I just finished a horrible response to addiction to the media (it was homework that i put under timed conditions) and I got stuck with my last sentence. A lot of what I wrote probably didn't make sense but... how do you say "the media is good for the young people unless you would prefer a censored press.

I wrote "die medien ist gut für die jugendliche wenn du würdst lieber nicht ein medien zensiert"

Actually that looks really really wrong but Ican't think of how to change it :no:

Grammar is my enemy :colonhash: I'm not sure whether to write the whole thing out here so I find my mistakes :dontknow:

Don't worry!
I try to help.

This is my translation: "Die Medien sind (plural to "Medien", that's why you have to use "sind") gut für jugendliche (it's an adjective) Menschen, außer (initiate a conjunction) du bevorzugst eine zensierte Presse (would = würde is required. That sounds not good.)."

Who has given this sentence in English to you? your teacher?
is = ist (singular!!)
are = sind (plural!!)
believe me, I know what I write in German.

I hope that you have understood me.

I had to write about something and that is how I ended the piece.

What does "bevorzugst" and "außer" mean? I don't understand why you've taken out würde :no: I thought prefer is lieber so "würde lieber" would mean "would rather"?

I understand the rest :smile: but I might have another question later

bevorzugen = prefer
unless = außer, wenn nich, außer wenn and so on (by a conjunction!)

Why I had taken out "würde"? I wrote it you before:
It was not appropriate in this sentence.

I'd translate it as:
Die Medien sind gut für die Jugendliche, außer wenn man eine zensierte Presse lieber hätte.

Btw - does that sentence even make sense in English? :lolwut:
Hi everyone,

Am a current A level student, studying bio,chem,maths and psych

I've also done my GCSE's here 1A*5A 1B 1C.

I lived in germany for about 10 years and studied there in " Reallschule or mittlere Reife" until year 9. Therefore I speak german fluently.

I am now thinking of studying medicine in germany. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who studies medicine and people I know aren't really very academic in that sense. I've already found the hochschulstart.de website and read abit about it. But I would be grateful if someone can give me any dates for applying what I need to do if I want to start studying in 2013.

Helpful for any tipss..
