ICT is a bastard in A level, friend of mine worked his head off but was all worth it for him in the end. Keep working hard and don't let the fact of a rubbish teacher distract you. Just get on with the work and you'll do fine

I'm not even sure myself on this layout of JoFo being bad for sociality but i'm just taking everyones word for it as everyone says the same thing that it's not the best layout :P Yes Beaumont is the area which is very green. Perfect for the summer!

ICT alevel is definitely one of the biggest mistakes I've made so far. Complete bull**** lol.
Yeah I'll definitely put Beaumont down on accom. Thanks for that btw

Aww I hope so aha :') where you hoping to apply for?

Yeah an email to the masses would be a nice indication! :colondollar:

Beaumont all the way for me, then probably JoFo (Yes I do realise JoFo as a 2nd choice is a crazy idea :colone:)

Yourself? What course as well?

You applied a couple of days ago?! How long has it been open for? Heres me thinking I was the first one
yeah hopefully we get the accomm that we're looking for bro. do you think the earlier you apply the better your chances of getting your 1st choice? I don't know anyone else who has applied tbh

Haha - I randomly signed in and saw that it was open. Butt waittt? I swear it was only open to unconditional offer holders?

Hope we get our first choices - if it's open to everyone, I suggest people get a move on and get their applications in!

Accommodation opens for returning students (people coming back from years abroad and in industry who's mates have graduated and medics who intercalated and thus have the same issue) first, then for unconditional and conditional offers around the same time.

The difference is unconditional actually book your accommodation now and confirm what it will be. Conditional offer holders fill it all in but don't find out where they'll be going for certain and confirming that until post results day; so you know exactly where you're going, can sign a contract, they know who to ignore 'cause they're no longer coming etc. Thus unconditionals rarely miss out on their first choice,

Hello there,

Just thought it would be a good idea to make a thread for the Leicester Firmers of 2012! Just so we can talk, get to know each other etc all in preparation for us potentially going and meeting each other! So ...

Course:
Offer:
Which accommodation are you thinking of?:
Other offers:
A-Levels:
AS Grades(optional):

So for example, in my case
Course: LLB Law
Offer: AAB
Which accommodation are you thinking of?: Probably John Fosters
Other offers: Exeter, Manchester, Bristol and Kent
A-Levels: Business Studies, English Lit, Politics, Psychology
AS Grades: AAAB

Looking forward to hearing back from some of you!! xx

You're choosing Leicester over Bristol, Manchester and Exeter?. Brave.

This makes me pretty happy - so thanks man.

I decided to go for Nixon Court in the end. Purely based on me asking a few of the medics I know in the older years. They basically all agreed that living in Oadby for the 1st year would take it's toll because I'd have to travel every morning for lectures as apparently monday-friday is 9:00am starts (except for Wednesday which is 8.30) :lolwut:

My only issue is socialising - I do intend to make a big effort with societies/meeting new people, but will not living in Oadby really hurt me socially?
