Tulisa sex tape "scandal" - why is sex seen as immoral?

there's been a lot of support for tulisa over this sex tape scandal... but also quite a lot of "she should lose her job" "she is a bad role model for girls and disgusting" "what a slut" and all that crap..

so, why is sex seen as immoral? why do people think her position as a judge of singing talent be questioned because 4 years ago she gave her boyfriend a blowjob?

i don't get it?

I don't think she's immoral but I think the fact that her management came out and denied it was her when there was 6 minutes of reasonably high quality footage of her face suggests a certain contempt for the intelligence of the public.

However, image obviously matters in her profession so if they feel that the release of the clip into public domain has tarnished the brand then they'll drop her.

Some parents want their children to be as ignorant of sex as they can be and Tulisa is seen as a role model. As such, people seem to think that this will encourage young girls to go out and behave int he same way, I guess.

It doesn't particularly make sense, and it isn't particularly fair, but that's how certain people see things. I think it's pretty decent of her to make a video about it after explaining her actions (not that I think she needed to) and all the support she got from other celebrities over it. People are always going to be up-in-arms over a sex scandal because sex is seen as private and it's a side of people we generally don't get to see :dontknow:

Many people have sex behind closed doors. Should everyone in TV and Film get called sluts as well? She just happened to make a mistake by letting a moron film it. Its release was inevitable because of her success on X Factor etc.

It's generally accepted that sex isn't a bad thing, but it's also generally held that to base oneself around sex isn't good (not something I really agree with, but that's the perception). Moreover, we judge public figures by their public image, and assume they have some level of control over that image even when in reality sometimes they don't. So while most people would think it likely that she has sex and have no issues with that, when it becomes public it's felt that her image is becoming more sexual, which people object to?

That didn't make much sense, but is broadly I think why people don't like sex tapes even from people they assume are sexually active.
