Hi guys!

I've got an offer to study economics in Bath.

I know Bath is very famous for it's sport clubs but may I also know how are it's other societies?

Thanks!

I was at the open day on the 29th Feb and the guy who was showing me around said he's not really into sports, but he's still found loads to do.

I'm not majorly sporty, but I'll probably try a bit harder at uni as I do enjoy playing a casual game of football, and I'd like to try some other sports. Plus the sports facilities do look nice.

Nice to know the first society I'll be joining is called BUMS, though

At the open day they mentioned loads of societies - and if you can't find one for you and you want to create one then if you can find a certain number of people (i think it was 13) who would join you then you can create your own society  But there are loads of sports soc's as you'd probably guess.

Oh hey again. I've firmed them now  Any idea what halls you'll be going for?

I wouldn't mind it, I've read a few girly school stories and they all seem to mention it - so I might as well give it a go.

Got 86/90, somehow. Special consideration because of the fire alarm probably bumped it up, I didn't think I did that well  If you want, I can try to help you with some of the stuff  Started any A2 coursework yet?

Hmm, well i when i visited these two awesome guys showed us round the cheapest accommodation (i think it was called Eastwood?) and it was like prison cells so i'm not applying there for sure! probably middle of the range, i want to apply for one where you share with a fair few people, i think it's easier to socialise that way :smile: & wowww, well done! :smile: haha, fair enough - i think i went a bit brain dead in the exam. my AS was an A (after a retake :wink:) and now i've gone down to a D somehow. ahh well - retakes ahoy! & yes, we've done the research investigation & i got 9/10 and we're half way through the practical investigation! :smile: {i have 3 other bits of coursework to do as well so it's all a bit hectic at the moment :')}

I didn't get to see what the accommodation looked like on the inside. Still debating between en-suite and non-suite. Definitely want mixed accommodation though.

What were your titles? My practical (which I did in July last year) was on the charge to mass ratio of an electron, and my research was on the neutrino FTL anomaly. Hasn't been marked yet and I'm fairly sure I'll be making some amendments to them.

Most of the accommodation is really nice! I just wouldn't advise the cheapest one, it's horrible. But i guess you get more money to spend on other stuff / have less loan to pay back - don't really know how it works. Just officially firmed bath so i'm all really excited about it now :')

& oooh, that sounds impressive  my practical is how temperature affects the behaviour of elastic bands (i'm still a little child at heart) and my research was Quantum Computing. Computing is my forte so i decided to sneak it in there  hohoho!

Are you going with en-suite or no en-suite? I'm not entirely sure. You'll use some of the money from your loan/grant to pay for it. Woo

Ooh, so spin, parallel universes and qubits? That stuff's pretty interesting, I actually mentioned a tiny bit about that in my PS (related to cryptography).

probably non-en-suite to save a bit of monies, and so i have an excuse to leave my room or i'll probably end up hiding in there alot.
& haha yeees all of that kinda thang, i mentioned cryptography in my ps too {: woowoo!

I love all the geeky physicsy stuff, hopefully I'll be able to go to some particle/quantum lectures whilst I'm there.

Well, my physics A2 courseworks are 'finding the charge to mass ratio of an electron' and 'is it possible for the neutrino to travel faster than the speed of light?' (completed it about 3 days before they found a fault in the optical fibres that they were using )

Yep but I study Psychology. Most of my friends are maths students so I joined BUMS and the socials are AMAZING!
