That depends on lots of stuff. What kind of music do you want to play mostly?

thanks for replying
what do you mean by music?
I actually want an electric guitar but i'm worried that it would be too hard for me coz a lot of people I know started of with an acoustic :s-smilie:

What genre of music. If you want to play death metal or country.

But if you want an electric guitar, get an electric guitar! You'll learn best on what you want to play the most. My advice would be to go to shops and try out a few guitars and pick one that feels good to you. If you have a friend who knows anything about guitars, try getting them to go with you.

Bleed The Light!

Done in a single take because I was too lazy to do it again and it I was tired.. :P

If want some nice acoustic stuff try learning some of Lindsey Buckingham's stuff.

Also a blues jam I did.

Heard your "Bleed the Light" a while ago. Sounding good, man! I can never play blues without ending up shredding... something about the simple progressions just makes the rock guitar player in me think, "this is your time to shine! Show the world your arpeggios and scale runs!" :frown:

Not too far if you pull me off at the same time.

Here are the recordings -- sorry for the sloppiness. Finger's still not 100%, but I hope you can get the general idea.

Here is the tab (think you've already got one for The Gargoyle so I didn't bother): http://i.imgur.com/WJB2z.png

Tricky riff that, at least I found it tricky. ^^ Good song though Ygnwie looks such a muppet though, but I'm still him live in September at the Marshall 50 Years of Live gig.. Though looking more forward to seeing Paul Gilbert and Joe Satch at that gig..

Yeeah good luck with that. :indiff:
I think I'll sooner sprout wings than tackle that riff.

When you manage to conquer it, upload and I'll give you major reppage. :yep:
Two little compositions I did a few months ago, mostly late at night.

First one was based of a riff my gf liked so I fiddle round with it and made this little recording.

Steph's Song

This one I did at like 3am one night and it felt summery and happy hence the name.

Sunshine Dancing

Enjoy.

hey guys, how good are behringer pedals? with uni ending in a few months, i can't steal pedals off my friends anymore, so was looking for a decent cheap wah pedal. my amp has most of the other main effects. any recommendations... preferably under £50? thank you

I don't think Behringer pedals are that great even for cheap ones, I'd look more towards Boss/Electro Harmonix/Digitech for cheaper pedals though while some are over £50 you can get some for £45ish. As for a Wah pedal, this Vox wah is on a deal for £50 at Andertons.

Still brilliant playing; doubt anyone picked up an injured finger there

Ahh this is all going so sloooow  You see the problem err i've got substantial hard rock/ metal influence on my playing and so i keep reverting to trying to downpick all the way. Needless to say; i'm failing massively

And i've figured it's not just my picking that needs major work; pinky independence + strength is not as up to task as I liked to believe it was :colondollar: think a more realistic evaluation on my relationship with my guitar is that i need a lot more time getting to know here and figure out her unique turn-ons. Hopefully by year's end we'll be having those hot, steamy, passionate sexy times that every couple dreams about having

Danke.

Yep, I went through exactly the same things. I was a devout Metallica fan and pretty much exclusively played their stuff when I tried branching out; needless to say, I got a shock. Try downpicking Technical Difficulties. The only thing I can say is that you'll get there, but it isn't a fast process.

And yep, this too. There are a ton of pinky exercises I know/did that helped me out a lot that I'll record/tab out for you tomorrow (especially now that my finger is better!).
