Yeah I really liked the campus feel, seems more ideal for making friends/socialising. Yeah, the location is also problematic, since the surronding areas are very expensive. It might just be because I'm a londoner, which means I'm not in awe of it. The accomodation is all spread out around the capital, while at Warwick, the majority is just a short walk away !. I think Nottingham is renowned for its nightlife, so I bet that's why. You've got all the time in the world to live in London after university if you wish to, which is why I wouldn't want to spend my university years there!
That's what I think, maybe I'll end up living there in my 20s, but not now. Did you get a look at any Warwick accommodation when you were up there? I hope it's good, because that's basically the last thing I don't know about.
The unis I applied to were: Durham (rejection) Exeter (AAA offer) King's (AAA offer) Warwick (AAB offer) Royal Holloway (ABB offer)
I guess King's is really popular, being London, so they can afford to have a higher offer despite their (sort of) lack of substance behind it. So I would be firming Warwick and having RHUL as my backup - but would probably reapply if I didn't get into Warwick

The London universities do seem to have the ability to set sky high entry requirement, because of the demand from home and abroad.. i.e QMUL ask for A*AA for Law. Entry requirements aren't great indicators, Oxford still only ask for AAA for the majority of their courses!

I'll join that group when I firm, which should be soon would you be going straight there or taking a gap year? Also when you visited, did you SEE the Student Union??! I loved it!! It even has a hairdresser's lol. So perfect for me! And what grades/points was your offer?

I'm going straight there, guess you're the same? I would be pretty lost and bored on a gap year to be honest and just want to get education done with!
Yeah I did indeed, it looked great! everything is literally on campus, and you can even get your shopping delivered to campus so no need to leave campus except to go clubbing!
My offer is AAA so fairly straight forward, just need to do some actual revision!
Yeah I'm going straight there. Not only can't wait for uni but would probably lose focus if I took time 'off'. And even then they have clubs right in the SU! I didn't see whether there were clubs in Coventry but I would assume there are, because that would make sense really lol So excited. I'm so lazy that a campus life would probably suit me anyway No need to go anywhere really!

Yeah same here! a year off, and I'm not sure I'd want to go back. Haha the clubs in the SU don't strike me as great places to go unless you're completely hammered, since they mainly play cheese. There are quite a few clubs in Coventry and Leamington Spa, so no worries on that front, and there's Birmingham aswell!
yep, the thought of rolling out of bed five minutes before lectures is a godsend!

More and more people are telling me that Warwick is better than King's. I think I was initially convinced otherwise by the fact that the King's offer is higher, but now I am pretty sure that that's just because of the London reputation factor. As it turns out, Warwick has a pretty good reputation too. I'm excited! Have you firmed? I am 99% sure I will.
hey all is there a deadline on firming a Warwick offer? I mailed the University and they were not very clear... I am still awaiting UCL and Oxford... Don't want to firm so soon..but can't afford to lose the last resort option also..

Some of them who hold offers at Warwick said that they received calls from the Warwick current students regarding possible guidance in the decision making process.
Do all the students receive it or does it happen to only a few of the selected ones?

In terms of the here and now, Warwick is probably 'better' than King's in terms of reputation and employability, but King's probably does have the superior artificial prestige and the lure of a fancy location in one of London's hotspots. Offers are basically just a marketing tool, next year around 10 law schools will be asking for A*AA yet Oxford still only ask for AAA. I've not firmed yet, forever procrasinating, will probably leave it till the last day.. So there's the 1% of doubt?

Yeah but I think it's just because I haven't done much research into the place. None of my other choices really seem to suit me as well, I just probably need to spend a little time looking at the website/prospectus to really convince myself.
Also firmed Warwick for Law and Sociology (after rejecting my previous 4 offers and went through UCAS Extra). Bit of a gamble but it's paid off!!
Brilliant! Thats fantastic! It must have been so stressful. Well done! I'm really looking forward to October- am so excited!! Have you started thinking about accommodation etc? Still very confused as to what to pick.
Oh I mean I am awaiting my results/replies from Oxford and UCL where I may go if I get in... meanwhile just wanna know if there is a deadline for firming an offer in warwick as i have one!
