What is the best way to do well in French writing test?

i have to learn 40 phrases of by heart for a test after the holidays and i was wondering what is the best way for me to learn them?

i find French to be really difficult.

Not all together! Try and learn about 5-6 phrases a day by putting them around the house on post-its or flashcards or just looking and trying to memorise then write and repeat. Write them out in bold/italic or colour and underline the words you miss out easily.
