Depending on the sound you need to block out. It works for blocking out the sound of someone talking in the room next door, but not if it is a lot louder than that. And they do stay in.

Macks Pillow soft, about to try their regular ones too

Would've needed my head set in concrete this morning though, mum's sodding partner was drilling holes in the wall downstairs before 9am. ****ing sadist!

:frown: :hugs: Sorry to hear about such idiots. Got plenty to deal with myself.
The ones you get at Boots and Superdrug should stay in just fine. Maybe you are not putting them in properly. I've tried both the foam ones that go in your ear and the silicone gel ones that stick to the outside, and both were fine.
Um, why do you need them exactly?

I personally use foam barrell earplugs, but it really depends on the way you want to use them and what noise you block out. I use mine to prevent general background noise at unviersity whilst sleeping.

I find these work fine. If you put them in right, you can forget they are there.

These are very good. Expensive though.

Snorestore has a code for students I'm told. TSRMay2012
It depends if you want them to block sound completely, I guess for sleeping, or if you're a musician and you want to protect your hearing whilst still being able to hear clearly.

I'm a drummer and I've been using these for years. http://www.alpinehearingprotection.co.uk/consumer_musicsafe_pro.htm
But I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for.
I've been using Boots Muffles (wax) for years. They're great!
