Spearman's Rank Hypothesis Testing

Hi

I wanted to know,
for Spearman's Rank Hypothesis testing, do you use a sentence or a statement in the exam?

e.g: H0: There is no association between Boys and Girls
or H0: p=0

Because, in the book, in the examples, it uses the sentence, but in the questions, it uses p=0

So confused...

Thanks if you can help

In the mark schemes they mostly just use rho (p) but I would state both for safety.
