Should I reapply to Oxford to study English?

Hey,
I am currently in the middle of sitting my A2 exams and have got York as my firm to study English. However I was rejected from Oxford after interview, but I feel that realistically I could attain 4A*s, with 4As already achieved.

What would be the best advice?
I am really confused as to whether I should reapply or not. Is it worth taking out a year and reapplying to Oxford? Is English at Oxford that much better and more reputable than at York? As a separate issue is their much difference between English at York and Durham? I would appreciate hearing your views.

There is much to be said for a bird in the hand. There is also more to the Oxford admissions process than just grades and having fallen at the interview stage last time, you would need to do something more to make yourself a good interviewee if applying again. York is an excellent university for English. I'd say take it and enjoy the course, but only you can make that decision.
