To an extent, you might not be able to wander about inside the buildings, but there's no reason why you couldn't be on the campus.

Hell you could probably turn up to most lectures not being a student.
I've actually done that. Went to meet my boyfriend at uni, didn't feel like standing around in the rain, walked into a room and found myself in the middle of a lecture. Wasn't questioned once.
