To follow on from my last post in another thread, as it has not been mentioned, and to add some much needed credibility to the thread;

Das Boot.

I approve. Also, I have never had so many filthy dreams about a woman as I have Anna Karina.

Good gravy, that's one fiiiiiiiiiiiiine looking woman.

And to everyone saying Shawshank Redemption: stop it. Le Trou is the best prison escape film, and that's all there is to it. A consolatory mention for Bresson's A Man Escaped.
can anybody recommend any good korean films?
Ive seen the vengeance trilogy, memories of murder, i saw the devil, jsa and quite a few more but has anybody got a good recommendation?

are you looking to branch out into other genres or stick with the crime/thriller stuff?
if the former, go for the host (very entertaining monster film) and peppermint candy (brutally sad drama), i'm not a huge expert on the latter, though.

Good choices. Both Peppermint Candy and The Host are awesome. Did you ever see Failan?

It's old, but my God is Marlon Brando gorgeous :') Plus it's just generally a great film and Vivian Leigh is fantastic!

Best reply in this thread. OP, watch the classics! There's a reason they're still admired to this day!

And yes, Marlon Brando:

I really wanted to buy that the other day. Sadly had no money. Gutted.

OP, if you like chick flicks and comedies...

Any of the Monty Python films
History Boys
Starter For Ten
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Love Actually
27 Dresses
Leap Year
Pride and Prejudice

I'll add a few others when I think of them. Ok, so they're not all great classics which are amazingly made, but I like them.

Oldboy. I can't look a hammer the same way again.

Edit: just remembered, it's part of the vengeance trilogy but a recommendation to other people nonetheless.
