Disappointed with the song. This is the olympic song and they really have the talent to make something good. It seems all over the place and the lyrics... ugh :s-smilie:
Slept on it to make sure I didn't make a snap decision and...well, I'll wait until I hear the full album but I can't help but think I have fallen out of love with them after TR and now this. Not that I thought TR was bad, it just wasn't anything special. Average.

Now after hearing Survival my hopes for the new album have been dented a lot. Hopefully i'm wrong, I want to be wrong. Makes me sad because I will still consider them my favourite band of all time and I will always cherish Showbiz through to Black Holes as some of my favourite albums ever.

Makes more sense with the accompanying official video footage and they've also cut the song down from 5 mins to 3.5 in this! (taking out/trimming down all the questionable bits it seems)

i bought this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MUSE-PROTEST-TRIANGLE-MENS-T-shirt-RED-OFFICIAL-NEW-S-M-L-XL-/230760573490?pt=UK_Men_s_T_Shirts&var=&hash=item35ba66ea32

it felt like cheap cotton and it got no muse tag like my other muse t-shirts so im guessing its a fake? :s-smilie: it does look quite nice though the triangle is not even central on the one i got..

I have this hoody  I have it in large, which fits comfortably but isn't too big. A medium would probably be a little small for me. To try and guide you, I wear medium t shirts most of the time.

Reminds me of the guy who got out of the queue to buy a 'MUSE' t-shirt from a 'legit' vendor for a fiver (or something), then asking his friends 15 seconds later if they thought it was genuine merch. Suffice to say a mass facepalm took place.

The t-shirt design looks legit from the most recent Wembley shows, but yeah it's most likely a replica

Incidentally, I ordered a medium OoS t-shirt from the website as my small one from Leeds fest is just a smidge too small for me. Medium felt like a big step up and it really hung off me, and it also didn't have the gig dates on the back. So I ended up spending a few quid just to send the thing back. I doubt this info will be useful to anyone, but just on the off chance...

Apparently my tickets have been despatched. Sweet.
Tracklist for The 2nd Law is up!

http://muse.mu/news/article/788/the-2nd-law--tracklisting-unveiled/

I'm intrigued by the last two tracks; could they be the song from the trailer and be the strings section and dubstep-like section respectively?

Best band ever. Seen them live there were amazing, sound better live IMO.
I know... so ****ing odd!
but really sweet and also ironic considering the whole of falling down is about how much they hate the place
Anyone else think the lyrics to survival weren't completely in Matt's control? They're just too spectacularly cheesy in a "IT'LL GET THE CROWD GOING"/"IT'LL MOTIVATE THE ATHLETES" kind of way. I can't help but feel that those who are working on the Olympics told him to write lyrics that would create that ^ kind of mood and probaby wasn't given much flexibility or control over the song as we think.

Just my 2 cents

I kind of agree. I think he probably wrote lyrics like that because it's for an international sporting event. Something that is pretty simple, yet catchy that people from all countries can enjoy with just a basic understanding of English
I just think he's ****ing awful at writing lyrics.

His lyrics have never been particularly good, although this is whole new level  He writes better when he's in a certain crazy 'phase' like he seems to be with thermodynamics on The 2nd Law.

I preferred the lyrics of the days when he was big into teenage angst (no one ever expects those to be good) or when the music was so loud and he mumbled so much the lyrics were incomprehensible anyway :p:

Now he's attempting to tackle bigger themes he should make more effort to make sure his lyrics don't undermine it by being painfully obvious and full of clichés. I remember someone ages ago said that Muse tell you it's the end of the world, whereas Radiohead make you feel that it is the end of the world, that's the difference.
