Drumming for Manual Dexterity?

Hello everyone. I am in year 12 and am hopefully applying for dentistry. I heard that a good way to show manual dexterity is to play an instrument. I have a grade 4 in drum kit. I'm wondering if this counts. One of my teachers said that playing the flute would show it but he doesn't think the drums really does. If I had no other proof of manual dexterity other than 7 years experience on a drum kit, would that be OK? I think it would still count, I find it does require skill with the hands, especially finger technique.

Would drumming count as a way to show manual dexterity?

Yes definitely, especially if you are half decent, there's a fair few drummers in our dental school.
