Hiya,

Just had a look on a music lyrics song and the closest I can get to, with the lyrics you supplied, is:

Enigma - Goodbye Milky Way

However, I can't be certain that is the song... have you got any additional lyrics, or a sound clip?

Let me know if that helps

Edit: I just had a listen to that new Ellie Goulding song, as I thought it may have been the one - but those lyrics aren't there. Any more information would be appreciated!

Haha I can't remember any more! I wasn't paying that much attention but I definitely got those words right because I wrote them down - obviously thought they were specific enough to google after.

It was definitely a female voice - less famous than Ellie Goulding but very soothing

Usually if you're able to remember some of the lyrics (the more the better) you can then go to a "search music by lyrics" site and see what comes up.

You can then (in another tab) open up Youtube and see if the song sounds like the one you thought you heard.

In that case I'll have to give it another shot - or alternatively you could have a look via the lyric searcher

Hope I've helped
Spot
OK, I've heard this in B&Q and Shazam didn't catch it. :unimpressed:

The song starts off with a short melody to the tune of "doo doo de doo doo, doo de doo" about 3 times then a female singer starts singing.

The chorus was "doo doo de doo doo, doo de doo" which was repeated several times.

And I heard the lyrics "I'm gonna catch you boy" or something like that in one of the verses. My Google searches didn't come up with that exact song :frown:

Had a quick look and tbh I don't have a clue! :frown:

I'd probably need more information, like a few more lyrics...

You could try using this site: http://findmusicbylyrics.com/ and see what you can get from there, but I haven't had much luck. I don't recognize the song anyway.

And something to note, don't know whether your B&Q is the same, but my local B&Q doesn't play the "proper" songs - they probably use cover versions.

Oh :frown:

Well, I know the notes at the start and I tried to chant it to SoundHound but it doesn't recognise it for some reason. I also know some notes in the verse as well. Any way to find this song just using the notes?

My B&Q seems to use a mixture of covers and proper songs.

Last time I was in mine they predominantly use covers.

That's what I would have also suggested, as Soundhound allows singing or humming - if you knew more of the song that would have definitely helped :yep:

Have you tried something like this? http://www.musipedia.org/ Otherwise, I wouldn;t know what to suggest, apart from going back to B&Q! (Unless there are people on here that know the B&Q playlist)

Doing my research - it seems very much like a B&Q exclusive song. Not a cover but a totally original song.

That would explain why Shazam and Soundhound didn't get it, and why the lyrics aren't online.

I mean every song I Shazamed there made it, bar this one.

In which case that would explain why it wouldn't work on Soundhound or Shazam!

I wouldn't have known it in these circumstances, because I haven't been in B&Q for a while.

Glad you found it out in the end

Next time I'm at B&Q, I'll ask the management for a copy of the song (if it's indeed what I suspected).

Thanks for your help

Not sure which bit you are referring to:
Spencer and Lauren Tango dancing: Sunny sadness - Luke Saxton
Power walking: Shark attack - Grouplove
In the nail bar: Buffalo - Toro y Moi
End of Part One: Rattlesnake - St Vincent
Part Two: I can feel your love - Paradise
Sam, Louise and Alik: A warning - Slow lights
Sam making cocktails: T-shirt weather - Circa waves
London at night: New rush - Gin Wigmore
End of Part Two: Riot - Raines
On the slopes: I'm a girl - Peace
London: Jackrabbit - San Fermin
Apres party: Not this time - The 2 bears
Back in London: In vain - Movie
End of Part Three: Real thing - Tune yards
Part Four: Last rites - Swervedriver
Spen and Lucy: Blood carpet - Only real
Last night in the chalet: Could be wrong - Fickle friends
Alex walks over to Jess: Getting there - Beardyman
Spencer arrives home: The love you're given - Jack Garratt
End of Part Four: Basic instinct - The acid
OK, song dilemma again. This time, it's 3 of them.

I managed to record them by my phone, luckily. Shazam and Soundhound don't detect these songs, and I particularly like the 3rd one. I think maybe it was performed by unknown artists because the artists that were detected only had 1-30 Shazams.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh gawd... is this B&Q again, or somewhere else? because I have never heard any of those before and none of them are being picked up by Shazam/Soundhound. Midomi isn't working either, showing "there are no close matches".

Probably can't be of use as I've never heard these before, but if you can give me more info, such as where abouts you heard it, that'd be great.

edit, TrackID won't work either. Are these some sort of B&Q specials?

I heard them all in McDonald's. Unlike B&Q, they don't use covers but instead they license indie music from unknown artists. It took 3 years for me to find one song that they played because the artist finally had an iTunes release and Shazam picked up on it eventually.

The thing is, all the songs are great and they sound like your typical modern song but better in a way.

Thanks for the help. I have them saved so I can Shazam them later and see if they went mainstream yet. I got all of the songs but those three, thankfully.

Aah, in that case they are probably real songs from unknown artists then, because I have been into McD's before and they do play proper music, not the B&Q cover version you hear floating around sometimes.

They did sound pretty good and it's a shame that I couldn't be of any more help - do McD's have a certain playlist? Could you ask in store or will this not help?

Best to see what happens - if any of them get released as singles then they may be added to Shazam's/Midomi's catalog system.

Here was one of the many songs I managed to Shazam in McDonalds. Very few Shazams and only a few hundred views on YouTube.

Aah okay, thank you for clarifying! I've never heard of that group before so chances are the songs you caught probably aren't even in the Shazam music directory.

If there's anything else you need sorting out, let me know  :h:
