Hey BunkerBoy1 nice to see your comment! Hope your well. The struggle is real indeed! It happened a few times; I did the exact same thing clicking back and forward again to retrieve it; it worked but that specific post it didn’t. Seriously mate, making your blog on word doc, saving it and then post on TSR is the best way. Good old Word- I’ve learnt the hard way; but hey things work out for the best as I’ll remember this for a very long time

I would agree- the KWFinder is really handy; a friend who much like you is really into this stuff recommended this to me as Google adwords search was no longer available. He said it’s really good!

I found SEO really difficult but I think I came across Yoast on a youtube video or something; but I did see the long tail keywords which they described. So what I’ve tried to do is combine what competitors think is best and my own suggestions using what I’ve learnt and thought was best using the tool and giving it a good whisk and come up with a unique set which I’ve applied. But likewise long tailed keywords are really important. The little rat sums it all up. Although I haven’t come across Moz tool I will be sure to check it out. I really value your comment. Thanks

Just Another Daily Dose of A Shining Bright Blog!
Blog 2 of 2

Welcome back, today I have been working on my website to add a language. Unfortunately the website doesn’t offer Google Translate Plugin; so with the upgrade I was also offered languages. I did want to add Welsh and Scottish- but Scottish was not available on the list. So I added welsh only, but the website did not seem to have the flag for Wales so I just added a UK flag instead. The website did convert most English words to Welsh, but the blogs needed to be translated manually. So I used Google translate to paste the English blog and Copy the Welsh blog generated onto my website. The language bar is now accessible on the menu bar at the top of the website. The website only allows two languages without a plugin; so I decided to choose Welsh (or Scottish if it was available) as my target audience is primarily the UK. Although this being said it’s really interesting to see I have got new users from countries like Jamaica, Madagscar, Singapore and Pakistan. . I think I need to revaluate where my audience lies . This being said this is a very small minority in comparison to UK users.

As people are able to subscribe, I decided I will post blogs much like newsletters through their email for those who prefer to subscribe to keep updated automatically when a blog goes up.

Google hasn’t indexed my website, which is frustrating as I got to know as it cannot be found on Google. I know it takes a couple of weeks for Google to recognise that the website exists, but I’d thought by now the posts would be indexed. The sitemap looks good according to the site123 but it just needs to be indexed. I just hope Google can work on this asap. But in the meantime, I am really active on social media; I try to post everyday if not every other day which is good to show activity to attract more viewers eventually than making a group and leaving it which means as a result people lose interest and I lose potential audience. The group is public for everyone to see so do make sure to head over!

That’s all I’ve done for today. Had a day off so was able to work more on my website, but working full time is a killer but I hope to remain consistent. I haven’t done an advice blog in a while as I have so much to talk about for my website, so if you would like an advice blog which is fun to do then for sure I can make two blogs a day. But I do hope to create another advice very soon. Until next time- Peace, love and unity!

I wouldn't worry too much about the language issue. Most people who speak Welsh and Scottish speak English too.

And there is always Google translate if they can't which honestly will be a very small percentage.

I don't want to put a down on your domain choice but I did a Google search for shine bright and a lot of websites come up. I'm just thinking that someone only knew the name Shine Bright then they would struggle to find your site.

But on the positive side most traffic will likely come from searches not related to your domain name.

Also I searched Google for shine bright mental health and your website is 7 in the results.

The results from other countries may be genuine but most likley spam bots. When I ran a blog before I used to get a lot of spam comments promoting viagra, knock off designers clothes but I had spam filter installed on WordPress which would stop most of it. Spambots are just part of rinning a website.

You really have committed yourself to writing a good blog and also building a website. You're gone into a lot of detail about how you got to this stage so far.

Yeah that is what I might have to start doing, I still write my blogs directly on to the TSR site. My issue us images, I upload a few and they all appear really jumbled and broken. Very annoying indeed.

The Google Keyword Tool is still avaiable but is limited slightly because you can no longer see the exact monthly searches unless you have a ad running. However, there is way around it. Create a Google adwords account and access the keyword planner. When you find a keyword that looks good click it and add it to your plan. The go to the plan overview and bid like £200 and you'll see the max amount of impression you can get from that keyword. Hope that helps

Hahaha I love the Rat pictures, it explains it well! yeah Moz OSE is a free chrome extension. I use it for all my projects. Keep up the great work!

True I agree, see that’s the thing I could only add 1 other language- I could choose Spanish or Chinese as they are the most spoken but I was thinking there was no stats to say s/c languages would benefit my users to other languages added. So as Scottish was unavailable I then just added Welsh as my main traffic is UK; and adding Welsh would make sense as Wales is part of UK.

Not at all, I’m glad you addressed that- I’m surprised it appears on as I couldn’t see it before as the sitemap wasn’t indexed yet. I’m gonna try to see how I can improve my website to see if I can bring it’s result up on web search as many organisations also hold the domain shinebright and of course they have been there for a while, so their SEO is top notch. At the moment it’s a thing of coming out with more fresh content marketing which will compliment SEO to improve its position of course and once indexed I literally believe we can do this whilst also using SEO keywords for my blog posts.

Interesting! I will keep an eye out for those spam posts, I don’t think Site123 offers spam blocks but it’s something to look into to see if I can download something which sounds pretty decent to use.

Thanks for your time for your comment

Attachments phufft hahah  you and I need to have a sit-down and just spill out all our problems because I’m certain they’ll be pretty much identical because I literally suffer the same problems haha. You must’ve noticed at the KWFinder blog I just given up at that point- I try to make a nice organised blog and it comes back ‘attachment unavailable’ or muddled up and you can imagine at that point- I get up, tuck in my chair and humbly move myself into a corner of my room; I sit facing the wall and sigh. Once again the struggle is real indeed

In response to the Google Keyword tool my email is stuck at the advertisement banner section and the page after that is payment. So I didn’t really look in further.

But impression is the ad view by each visitor - So wouldn’t google adwords be showing us just an approximation- not really an accurate representation of the amount of traffic the keyword can achieve on my website and I won’t be applying for adsense, so advertisement wise that method would be useful for adsense however for SEO and ranking wise, it wouldn’t show how well the keyword would do on SERP. What your view?

Seriously Keyword search tools are really convenient and they even come in handy when I want to create blog posts to rank, good stuff!

Just Another Daily Dose of A Shining Bright Blog!

Welcome to another Bloggity Blog today! Today I have been working on creating a FAQ page and gallery. FAQ is quite important to allow me to address the small general things in mini Q&A’s instead of creating blogs.

Gallery is not really a necessity for my website lets be honest, but at this moment it’s just to enhance the look of the website in general and create a little warm kind of feeling to it. I imagine the gallery to have people smiling, friendships, unity and uplifting images which is basically the focus of my whole website from the logo and name to uplift and give people the hope to shine through the difficulties. At the moment I have just added one picture but as time goes I will add more pictures.

I have began creating the FAQ page; by adding questions as I do. Ideally, I would hope to create a separate FAQ tab where it would lead to a separate window without it appearing on the website page as you scroll down. At this point, I am pleased as content is slowly beginning to add up. I know at some point I need to start thinking about another 2 blogs; so that’s also on my mind so don’t worry about that chaps!

I feel like my website is missing something; something important. But I can’t put my finger on it. I will be sure to hunt it down eventually and add what my gut instinct is feeling.

Just another update; a log onto the system you can call it if you shall. Thanks for reading and Peace, Love and Unity!

Just Another Daily Dose of A Shining Bright Blog!

Welcome to another blog where I will be talking about my experiences. This is the 2nd of the 3 blog series of my experiences. 13/07 - exactly a week ago I did the same blog- so check it out if you haven’t seen it.

My experiences: Part 2

What things in my experience do I recommend to new beginners to do when website creating?

Topic- Do something you will truly enjoy or feel the audience may benefit by. This could be a cause or a profit-making business but really think through what you want to do- see how saturated the market is and how you plan about to launch your site to success.

Which Website?- Use a website creator where you will feel comfortable with, research their prices for upgrades and the programs they offer as in the short term it may be good to create a basic website but for long-term websites really think what can boost your website to other sites on the market- is that a personalised support service? Or does your website have a USP which other sites lack?

Plan- This for me personally has been a real saviour! Refer to your original plan and see whether you are meeting the targets you set for creating your website, how is the layout complimenting user access, and what do you want your website to offer and what you are going to be doing. Create a word doc and create a detailed plan separated in column or a table as I used and work your way through it. I would recommend you add a tick box; and tick off everything you are meeting. Strongly recommended without a doubt!

As a website creator what can be done to boost my website and for others from experience?

It is hard to reach to the top of SERP. I’m not exactly on the most powerful position yet of course either; neither is anyone starting out a new website. First- Blog consistency is key as well as looking at what you are posting. High quality written blogs to suit your audience is significant, you may talk about the technical jargon- but you need to be able to connect on a personal level to create a more individualised service to the user to create user loyalty whilst ensuring quality blogs.

An appropriate layout of a Blog will persuade the reader to carry on reading whilst one big chunk of text will instantly put off the reader immediately. I.e. if there were no paragraphs here now, I’m sure you still wouldn’t be reading either- and it’s pretty much the same with any website.

Be aware of your audience- Use a web analytic tool to track your user activity and how they are using your website. Create a portfolio which shows a clear image of what works best and what needs improvement on with your website. Remember, innovation is change that unlocks new value- so always be open minded to change and improvement for your website constantly.

What is available for you to exploit to attract audience and users to your website?

Use social media. Create pages and actively share it around twitter whilst also requesting multiple pages to post your blogs or your website which may correlate with what they post. Social media enables you to interact with your audience and there is nothing more powerful than marketing via people’s word. Also create a LinkedIn profile.

Use SEO to optimize your content; regular content will improve SEO in search and long-tailed keywords will create differentiation from keywords used by competitors. Use a Keyword search tool to recognise which keyword works best for your website. If you want to apply adsense then this will be pretty much essential anyway.

In a nutshell, what’s my opinion on website creating?

Be yourself. I cannot speak for corporate business profiles but creating a cause website; I say strive to be yourself, be committed to your content and be resilient as pitfalls are part and parcel for website creating and without a doubt Stay optimistic. Always!

Just Another Daily Dose of A Shining Bright Blog!

Welcome to another blog. Today I have been working on website further; by finishing my website gallery. Initially what I did was to collect top quality images with the feeling of ‘friendship’, ‘oneness’, ‘compassion’ and that ‘warmth’ feeling I knew I wanted. So when I added these images onto the website- Instantly I thought of an amazing idea. So I thought of adding ‘hand-made’ quotes to the images. Screenshot shows work in progress:

Gallery ss 1.JPG

So I used the snipping tool available on my computer to capture and save the images published. I then created myself or chose powerful quotes or 3 word quotes from online which I love to embed onto the image. The problem I faced whilst doing this is as there are limited colour selection on paint; it was difficult to match the text colour to the images whilst ensuring it doesn’t clash with the background image. Until you do it, you will understand even colours like dark green or bright red clashed. I also had to ensure I was using light calm colours than harsh, blunt colours like mud green or black as psychologically this has a huge effect on users.

I was ecstatic beyond words with the outcome which is an under-statement. I created quote images, although some say it’s easy to do; but you need to know that initially this was not the plan; so to create something out the expected was so gratifying. I saved the images to desktop and then published this online by dragging them onto the gallery on my website. I am really happy with the images; they have added life to the website. I have changed the function of the gallery; so instead of a stand-still gallery the user now can scrolled through the quote images side to side.

Creating the quote images really enabled me to reflect on my website; I am proud to have created a website from my own ability by being creative and innovative to think of new ideas to implement to my website; without a doubt the quote images are an example of this. As they say a picture speaks a thousand words; but with the power of quotes its definetly something which can influence others also. I think reflecting on today, by building a website this has brought the creative side out of me I never knew. At this moment of time, I know I as a creator connect to my website; so with dedication and confidence I am willing to work, work, and work to see through the success and launch of SHINE BRIGHT. I think being unique and creative is important whilst creating a website in my experience and opinion (especially learning from today) rather than being the same and moving into a saturated market to create a selling website, blog or a cause website as a consumer you will take no notice of a website and move ahead. With that being said, being dedicated to see through the success of a website; anything is possible.

I did also work on to complete FAQ questions; I added two more questions and completed it as FAQ don’t tend to be too long. However majority of my time after work was taken to creating my gallery, so I am happy to have finished both the FAQ and gallery aspect of the website, I am really pleased with today.

Sorry forgot to mention. Of course I love quotes; so to apply quotes on SHINE BRIGHT is pretty exciting, hence why I am probably this ecstatic at the moment. I also want to add as I said in my previous blogs on TSR I will be creating a motivation page; what I will try to do now is to incorporate this into this gallery instead. As creating a separate motivation page will only be filled with quotes anyway which in hindsight would look plain and not engaging at all so for me to create image quotes is great instead to add the motivation I planned to do during my plan process early on when i stated here instead.

To move one step forward what I plan to do is to ensure I update the gallery every now and again to have new images added when the current images become old- something for regular users to look forward as they constantly visit and become users of the site.

Thanks.

You can download GIMP to edit images, yes it is an odd name!

https://www.gimp.org

It is free to use and similiar to Photoshop.

With the images, and you might know this already, you need to make sure you can use them.

Some images are free to use but many are not. The copyright for photos/images usually belongs to the person who took the photo/created the artwork. The copyright owner often charges so much per use of the image. Using images on the internet often attracts a lower fee than if you wanted to use an image in printed media. There are places you can buy images like shutterstock.com

You can always get free to use images on Flickr (you need to search for creative commons licensed images) or other websites like http://www.freeimages.co.uk

That'll be really useful if I want to access more photos; as at times my website does not have the photos I'm looking for.Thank you  . So currently I use the images offered by my website. The images I use from my website are from Pixabay which is a paid service.

Edit: Oops! I lied :stupido:I just realised Pixabay is a free website, but the sponsored shutterstock photos on its page is paid. (don't know why they are supposedly sponsoring shutter shock competition. Oh well.)

Just Another Daily Dose of A Shining Bright Blog!

Welcome to another blog. Today has been an eventful day.

I have been working on adding a password lock on my home login page of my website. So the Login lockdown records the IP address of every failed login attempt. If more than a specific number of failed attempts are detected using the same IP address in its range then the ability to login is disabled from that specific range. I chose 5 login attempts to be applied. When I first signed to create a website, I did enter an email but with this new password lock I can also add a substitute email as if I do not remember my email or password then I can click ‘Forgotten Your Password?’ which will redirect me to enter my substitute email. SITE123 is alerted this in advance and as they are available 24 hours they automatically can check my emails on records and verify this to be true- so new login details are sent to my website for me to apply. This is 100% safe.

This is really important especially to protect myself from hackers who may try to hack my website by ‘guessing’ the website password. Without this in place, hackers can repeatedly try as many times as they want and supposedly enter with a correct password using advanced techniques.

First I installed and activated the plugin and then I configured the setting on my website. Here you can choose how long you want to set the restriction; Ie. After the first 3 or 5 entries, the hacker is restricted for 10 minutes, 25 minutes, 12 hours or 24 hours which is upto you to set which one you prefer to use. Although I always use a strong password and I change this every month, hackers find new techniques and different ways to get into websites or accounts, so its always good to be safe.

Aside from the new password idea launch, I may be creating an events page. This will be useful to list any upcoming events around the UK which are associated with mental health. This will help my users out a lot; especially those who need professional and psychiatric help or support group which can offer this to them. This is really important as in the UK we do hold a number of events to mark important cases like Mental health awareness week which took place from May 8-14. It’s at moments like this where individuals are most vulnerable and can relate to personal cases of mental health. So I want to create something where it is accessible for my users to use.

There are of course hundreds of smaller mental health events all year around in different cities and towns at different rimes in the UK per year. It’s difficult to regularly update the website with the number of small events across the UK- so what my website page will offer is to promote national events for teenagers across the UK- as at these times teenagers are more willing to seek help as these events are celebrated nationally and people can relate with each other. Maybe in the future if the page is deemed useful for my users, I will create a page which lists ALL the events across the whole of UK where any user can simply go onto the page and see which event is available to attend on which day in their area.

Here is the list of upcoming events in the UK:

World Suicide Prevention Day

World Mental Health Day

National Stress Awareness Day

International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day

Anti-bullying week

Here is a list of past events In the UK :

Mental Wellness Month

Mental Health Awareness Week

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week

Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

Stress Awareness Month

Now using the upcoming events that I will be discussing about, I could split UK into different regions to show the different events open to attend for users who may wish to. This will be valuable for my website also as this will allow my website to stay constantly updated with new events in different areas whilst the blogs will itself update the website.

Thanks for reading today’s blog. Until next time- Peace, Love and Unity!

Just Another Daily Dose of A Shining Bright Blog!

Welcome. Today I have been working on putting my events page into action. On my website, I have created a title as ‘Upcoming Events in 2017’ where I will be publishing the events. As I stated in my previous Blog, I will be focussing on well-known celebration days than small events which take place all year around in different communities. So I did some research on the individual celebration days. First I researched when the event will occur of course as that would be good to know obviously. I also added basic descriptions of the events and what they entail- this will allow the user to be knowledgeable of what the events involve and if they want to attend. Adding a basic description to each event also looks organised and well-displayed when live on site.

I have added the events page onto my website under construction mode. So it is not live to users just yet as I want to add a completed version when it is ready to go. I have planned to prioritise this events page, so it’s the first thing I will be doing in these upcoming days whilst working on my website.

I haven’t added the dates of different events just yet as this will require time to browse over the internet to see the all different events across the different regions of the UK. This will take a few days to fully complete- so what I hope to do is to add the different celebration days for each celebration event separately. For example, the first day I will browse search for all events for users to attend across the UK for World Suicide day and World Mental Health Day and add this onto my website. And then the next day I will add more event days to other celebration days. (Bearing in mind I do have a fulltime job; so it is difficult to do all events in one day, I would have started with the events day today but I went on a bike ride which I had planned for ages sorry!)

I have attached the information of what I have completed today to this Blog, if you want to see further what I have completed as its not available on the website just yet:

CELEBRATION DAYS FOR DIFFERENT MENTAL HEALTH CAUSES

World Suicide Prevention Day- Sun 10 Sept

World Suicide Prevention Day is an opportunity for support groups, organizations and individuals to encourage awareness about suicide, mental health linked with suicide, as well as the chance to talk about suicide prevention. Organizations such as the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and World Health Organization (WHO) play a key role in promoting this event.

Aims of World Suicide Prevention Day:

Raise awareness that suicide is preventable and people are here to help always.

Improve education about suicide and promote people to seek alternative choices for help.

Spread information about suicide awareness and provide help to victims.

Decrease stigmatization regarding suicide and enable people to accept this is an issue in today’s society and we need to help each other before another person becomes a victim of this.

World Mental Health Day- Tues 10 Oct

World Mental Health Day is organised by the World Federation of Mental Health, a global mental health organisation which takes pace on 10 October each year. Organisations like Mind join together to spread awareness of what can be done to ensure that people with mental health problems can live a normal life without social stigma and to spread global mental health education.
National Stress Awareness Day- Wednes 1 NovNational Stress Awareness Day is celebrated on the 1st November of each year. This event is set up to raise awareness, fight against social stigma, and promoting the importance of wellbeing for individuals. National Stress Awareness Day was established by the International Stress Management Association (ISMA) to help provide information on stress, and strategies on how to address it for both companies and individuals. Take this opportunity to remove the stress from your life for the day. Examine your life and look into mitigating stress from your life.

International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day- Sat 18 Nov

Survivor Day is the one day a year when people affected by suicide loss gather around the world at events in their local areas to seek comfort and understanding as they share their own stories. Last year, there were over 350 Survivor Day events in 18 countries. Families and friends who have lost loved ones also gather to seek comfort and healing.

Anti-bullying week- 13-17 Nov Mon- Friday
Anti-Bullying Week is an annual UK event in November aiming to raise awareness of bullying of young people, in schools and elsewhere, and to highlight ways of preventing and responding to it. Anti-Bullying Week is organised by the Anti Bullying Alliance (ABA) in England, which is made up of about 60 member organizations. In Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Week is coordinated by theNorthern Ireland Anti- Bullying Forum (NIABF). In 2016, 1.5 million Young people were bullied with 19% of those being bullied every day in school. So its important individuals, organisation and governmental advisories raise and spread awareness for bullying. There is no room for bullying.

Thank you for reading and until next- Peace, Love and Unity.

Just Another Daily Dose of A Shining Bright Blog!

Welcome. Today I have been working on finding different events across the different regions of the UK. I used Word Doc to place my findings in a table; for clarity. I did find lots of events across the UK for World Suicide prevention day. Although given by the number of regions and with 1-2 events in each, it shows a low number of events across the UK, especially split further into individual cities. I am sure there are more events to celebrate suicide awareness day and I aim to find them through various sites. However, I do suspect given the time-frame of these events with some 3 months away, there are a low number of events publicly displayed with lots of events still to be officially promoted by the organizers. Researching the World Mental Health Day, there was not sufficient events online to be found as of yet, which once again my assumption is that events are yet to be published publicly. I don’t think this is an error or a problem I faced on my behalf whilst creating this page as this cannot be helped and it makes sense for organizers not to start promoting an event 3 months prior; so to move forward this I will be publishing the upcoming events page with celebration days left empty whilst continually working and adding events on. In due course, over a couple of weeks I will regularly be browsing the Internet and updating each celebration day with its events. I think this way will be more efficient as instead of creating a completed events page, this will be constantly monitored to ensure I am adding more events, so each region has events than to create an events page using only the current info. supplied and then not looking back at it. As my page will be left editable mode, I will still have access to the page whilst adding more relevant events onto the page as creating an events page is not a one day thing. This does take time to constantly add new events as they arise.

Here is a word screenshot of the events so far:

Onto the social media side of things, social media is going great. I regularly update the social media pages, as I think this is significant in gaining audience. So be sure to head over to check those out; especially Facebook as I try to remain active on Facebook.

As you may be aware, I’ve added my friends and family to the group just to ensure the word spreads faster. Good news is yesterday, I got a friend request on Facebook by an unknown person and I think it’s brilliant as its gives direction to the website consequently. Although, 1 friend request will not make a huge difference and seem a very small deal- but I think at this moment of time, its shows the social media page is receiving some coverage. Every 1st website beginner takes baby steps, until they start taking large, bold steps after some while- so I am happy as the website is taking its steps forward.

Screenshot: (blurred as it’s not fair to publicise their profile):

I did also use today to install Bing Webmaster tools onto my website. This is a free service as part of Bing search engine allowing webmaster tools to be added to websites. Many people overlook Bing search tools, which is understandable given Google is the most widely used search engine in the world with over 90% searches with Bing just over 6%. However starting out a website, this information is totally irrelevant for me as I need all the audience I can possibly exploit to launch my website high. Although to add, the tools provided by Bing are really good. It has security software (Malware) which is really valuable to detect any bugs or viruses on my website. Primarily, I liked this tool as using Bing webmaster Tool this will show me a more better portrait of what is causing the issues if I see crawl and indexation ( tracking and results on web search. I didn’t know this either before researching on it) performance issues in my Google Search tool to narrow the issue which may be restricting SHINE BRIGHT.

This tool has a keyword search tool which is much similar to Google Adword keyword search tool whilst updated functions offers SEO feedback and recommendations for my blogs I enter for me to rank using the best keywords. This is convenient as I can utilise the keywords I want to apply to my blogs whilst also using recommendations from Bing and using my previous search tool- KWFinder. For long-term shine bright blogs, this will be really handy.

Why is it useful for me to add Bing webmaster tool whilst already having Google analytic tool?

- I think with the features offered by Bing Webmaster tool it is really practical, especially to monitor and analyse both the Google search tool already present on the website and the Bing webmaster tool on a regular basis which will enable me to have more data and to gain a integrated view of the blog performance on SHINE BRIGHT.

Events Page

Welcome. The events page is now live on my website. Over a due course of months, dates will be continually added which is not a problem. When accessed the event page for each celebration day, this will only show the descriptions of each event without any dates as over time this will be put up as more events become present closer to the events.

Event page attachment:

I did also link the events page onto the homepage menu bar to catch the users eye to it. Each event page will be split into 12 different regions of the UK as shown by the table of previous blog and events will be added accordingly.

YouTube Videos:

I did also say I wanted to add YouTube videos to the website; main reason being to benefit individuals as videos are more engaging and can grasp the user’s emotions than perhaps a text may do. Top quality videos do serve a purpose in delivering what it should do. My plan was to add really engaging videos something for teenagers to relate to; as I know myself as a person; I am able to connect with videos better. So this is why I want to add this to my website and with the live chat up and running, if teens feel they want to talk they can anytime they wish.

I disregarded that many videos on YouTube are copyrighted. Owners have copyright to the video- although with permission, copying is permissible. Adding a link onto my website is not infringing copyright laws because the video is clearly not appeared on my website. However the issue comes where I embed the video into my website. This is much similar to photo copyright- as you’d need permission from the owner of the image to use the image. And adding a video from you tube is the same.

Although upon research, YouTube TOS says:

You also hereby grant each user of the Service a non-exclusive license to access your Content through the Service, and to use, reproduce, distribute, display and perform such Content as permitted through the functionality of the Service and under these Terms of Service.’

So as a user I am able to use the video providing the embedded function is enabled. However, a video on YouTube will most probably not belong to the original owner, so it’s difficult to say whether I should embed YouTube videos as this could be infringing the owner’s right although a video online does not necessarily mean it’s a public domain video for me to use, so I’m in a bit of a pickle.

Part 6c of Youtubes terms of service does also specify ‘limited access’ and ensuring material is ‘permitted through youtube terms of service and policies’. As I don’t have a Google Adsense account this wouldn’t affect me as I’m not in risk of losing one, but it still does come down to whether the video uploaded itself is under YouTube policies.

Solution to the issue:

To resolve this, I’m going to see whether site123 offers a third party app for me to install rather than directly applying and embedding the video onto the website. An app will show whether adding a particular video is feasible or not. If this is not feasible then I am more than happy to accept this as this was an addition to the focus of my blog website anyway. If I can then this would be great to give that extra addition to the site for users to directly relate to whilst allowing shine bright to enhance its SEO and ranking on Google.

Thank you for reading. Until the next one- Peace, Love and Unity!

Sorry I never got back to you on this! The impressions just allows you to see how many people are searching the keyword on a monthly basis. It won't be able to tell you click through rates but, in most cases, the higher the competition the better the traffic that is searching the keyword. The Ads on Google don't get good click through rates anyway because people prefer organic results (more trustworthy).

What I was suggesting is that the Google Keyword planner can produce great keyword words, give you the number of people searching it monthly (more specifically if you use the method I suggested) and can also tell you what people are paying to be in the number one spot. If you get to the top of the SERPS for a keyword that is high in search volume and has people paying upwards of £2 per click, you've hit yourself a winner.

Hope this helps. If you're still confused just search for Backlinko's guide to keyword research in Google  It will tell you everything you need to know and more

Just Another Daily Dose of A Shining Bright Blog!

Welcome. Today I want to use this blog to discuss what to incorporate when creating a website in my own experiences and as an advice Blog you can say.

Choosing the Host and Domain for you.

- My domain is: www.shinebright.org.uk

When creating a domain, it ideally should be short and captivating. This is important especially for a user to easily recall your memorable domain. Ie. Look at Google or Ebay- It’s easy and it slips off the tongue.

Choosing the host package is sometimes difficult. But take into consideration the purpose of your website. For example, how does the package offered by namecheap.com differ to those offered by 1&1.com? What security and backup features does a package offer which favours your online growth? Ensure to look into feedback and the reviews of each hosting package and their performance. 1&1 was cheaper, with free email hosting but its poor reviews was a major drawback for me and eventually led me to using domain from Namecheap.com. I was so fixated on adding a domain I disregarded other additional features; but if you can make use of additional features provided then make sure to look at various hosting sites than limiting yourself to 2 hosts only- I decided to use Namecheap as the feedback was exceptional.

Brand Matters

Brand is very important in businesses and organisations. The appearance and presentation of your brand will determine the user’s perception of the website as a whole. Brand essentially should highlight the focus of your entire website. Shine bright- immediately grabs the users attention further enhanced by the slogan ‘together we can shine through mental health’. Instantly it summarises the idea of being related to mental health, you can ‘shine bright’ or you are a ‘shining star’ which is exactly what I was trying to put across. Logo at the upper middle page also grabs the readers attention as the reader scans his/her eye from left to right.

Navigation

A website which is difficult to navigate due to excess information or the website trying to cover everything; although it can be good this may lead users feeling frustrated and turning away from the website. When I first started building SITE123 what I liked most was you could scroll down and see the entire website’s content compartmentalised by different headings. I applied the function where the website is ‘multi-page’ so when clicked on this leads to another tab- allowing you to focus on the specific content you want to. One way to improve the accessibility and the ability to navigate through any website is to add a site map (which will also help Google crawl through your website)

Accessibilty for Mobile Users

This is sometimes not taken into account by many, in fairness I would’ve been the first to neglect this completely. More people nowadays are using mobile devices to search websites than desktop- 51% users loading websites on phone to desktops*. Don’t miss out on the opportunity of exploiting this community of people fully. Ensure a phone or a tablet can re-adjust your website to make this accessible on phones. Site123 did already provide this feature; but to confirm I did use my phone anyway to check.

Sitemap

Sitemap provides the useful information to people and Google to allow users to navigate easily through your website. Sitemap can be brought up to date regularly to ensure you have a good sitemap in use. Google Webmaster tools also do this for you. This was partially provided by my website. An incomplete one was present but it didn’t take long to complete this fully- about half an hour tops I think to update this and ensure it has the relevant information it needs on shine bright. But adding this is really vital for any site nonetheless.
