Bocconi or RSM for IB ? (Undergraduate)

I am thinking of applying for a bachelor programme in Bocconi too and would probably apply for an undergraduate merit award,but one of their requirements is minimum of SAT score 650 for maths+critical reading.Guys,does anybody know if university accepts qualifications alternative to SAT, when choosing who will be receiving award?

Maybe with great grades ...
I think the SAT is the only alternative for a merit-award ... You can contact them ... They respond quickly

I'm more likely to take the Bocconi test ... as I have to prepare the Toefl , im afraid of running out of time because SAT is way more difficult and needs a great preparation (this is my opinion ...)

Hey !! I got accepted to Reading , Conventry , sunderland .. But i didn't want those univerisities. I wanted the TOP like CASS or MANCHESTER or ASTON. Unfortunately , I didn't met the entry requirements .. So I was going to study a foundation year there , then I changed my mind. As a stressed girl about studies , it was too risky for me. Then I decided to do a community college in California but I couldn't afford the tuitions there ( after 2years , for universities , all 45dollars and more ). I changed my mind again , I wanted to go to Montreal ( Concordia , John molson school of business ) but my parents didn't want me to go to Canada ( they don't like it while it's so good to live there ). Now , I am going to an american university in Morocco. This american university has BOCCONI as a parner institution.
Bocconi is incredible , my friends there love it. Anyway , I made a deal with my parents. I'm going to stay in Morocco for 1year or 1year and half and then I could transfer everywhere if I get accepted.
I am so confused , i have many choices :
1) study 1year and half or 1year and then transfer to US : Umass Boston or the university of tampa OR STUDY 1YEAR here in Morocco and then go to a community college in Florida for my second year and try my best to ge accepted to THE UNIVERSITY OF RLORIDA ( TOP 50 in the world )
2) I am , now , practicing for THE SAT TEST. I am from a french system , it's very hard to get good marks. My mathematics sucks ( I had 3.0 on a scale of 4 in my final records but only 2.0 in mathematics given that I am from A SCIENCE BACCALAUREATE with further mathematics and physics :s ) So I wanted to have ur advise . Should I apply to BOCCONI as a freshmen student ? Or study for like 1year at this american university and then try to transfer ? And plus, it is said on Bocconi website that if the students doesnt have OUTSTANDING grades ( 14/20 , which means almost 4.0 GPA haha ) , he has to take the SAT test or the ACT or take the bocconi test. I prefer to take the SAT test as I already started to practice for it . I am so stressed , do you think I can get accepted with a low GPA but with a good SAT score ( more than 680 on each section for example ) .
And for the transfer , has someone an idea about about a minimum GPA transfer ( all my credits are recognized as my university is a partner instituion , am i advantaged for that ? I am applying for the international program taugh in english ( business )

Btw , I saw that u said 650 is the entry requirement for the SAT. Does that mean that if my grades are not outstanding and that If i get 650 in math and critical reading , i am accepted ? For sure ?
I really need your help and every information about Bocconi , transfer student from a 4years institution to Bocconi and direct entry !!! THANK YOU SO MUCH

Oh and btw , I forgot , why do you think the bocconi test is easier ? And where can I find a Bocconi test on internet ? Truth is , the sat test is hard and my head is gonna explode as I am not a english native speaker !

Not at all. 14 out of 20 is good but far from being equivalent to a 4.0 GPA.

No. I went to official tables. The french baccalaureate is hard . For example 3.0 GPA means 12/20. Anyway , anyone to answer ? :frown:

I have 4.6/5 GPA in the first two years of high school by now.. I am looking into applying to Bocconi BIEMF program for the 2013/2014 school year. I don't have to take the SAT or an equivalent test cause of my high GPA, but I want to in order to get the scholarship. I wanted to ask:
1. Is it hard to get the 650+ on the critical reading for a non native speaker?
2. If I do the SAT well, and for example this year my GPA is 4.7/5 and in the senior year 5/5 do I have good chances to get the scholarship? I am also a debater, volunteer and I do many other extracurricular activities.
3. Is it possible if you don't get the scholarship for the first year to get it in the second year?
4. Is it very hard to maintain the scholarship during the studies? I mean, you don't put down the books etc.

Definitely RSM. It is much more well-known internationally as a leading institution, and not only inEurope but also in Asia. But I have to agree: most prestigious banks (boulge brackets and boutiques) mostly recruit from the top 5 in the UK

Hi there! Are you planning to get a Msc degree as well? In fact, RSM and Bocconi are partner schools, you can go for a exchange year to bocconi, afterwards you will get a double Msc degree from RSM AND bocconi!

I'm a Dutch student and afaik IBA is regarded as "fluffy/easy" and therefore requires you to have extremely high grades to be considered "special", which you ought to be if you're competing for a position at a BBB. That being said bocconi has a tendency of being the #1 institution for Italy, and RSM/EUR is not the equivalent of that for the Netherlands.

RSM might be the most prestigious management school of the Netherlands, but to break into IB you'd be better of studying something else. I study Econometrics (with an optional specialisation in Quant. Finance), and for example our student association has a special trip (just for us econometricians, no other studies allowed!) to London where nearly every BBB is represented. It is more or less geared towards Trading/QF, but nonetheless you would be able to turn that into M&A/CF if you really want, it's all about exposition.

That being said you should pick a study you like, you'll probably do well if you like it. That will naturally result in higher grades which increase your chances of landing an offer.

No they don't. There's an on/off-campus workshop event but it's highly competitive and arguably not very different from an online application.

Competition for the university-wide trip: 20 spots for ~1000 students
Competition for the QF trip: 20 spots for 80 students
Competition for the recruiting event: 15 spots per bank, usually 4~500 applications per bank
