i got it eventually.. you see he's learning to be a lawyer so that he can sue people for contributing to the breakage of his arm.. also note how the purpleness of the cast corresponds so nicely with the purple college logo

Sacheverel is much more soulful than Brian

I think that Manet's Olympia would work well with Brian
And the Lady of Shallott would suit Sacheverel more...
