Well there is bound to be some "resistance" in the areas still. You can't just expect both parties to calm down; they were ready to destroy one another a week ago.

Norway agrees. Both parties agreed to the UN ceasefire. Both parties should abide by the UN ceasefire. Norway asks Israel, Lebanon and Hezbollah to remain calm and stick to the agreed ceasefire in order to prevent an already fragile peace from deteriorating further.

Which is false.
And not when one party still occupies part of S.Lebanon and has thousands of Lebanese civilians imprisoned. I really don't get how you think it is justified to bomb lebanon for capturing TWO SOLDIERS while it is a hideous crime to capture two soldiers so that thousands of lebanese prisoners can be returned.

Ceasefire is good... Peace is so valuable.... but isn't it unfair to leave thousands of lebanese prisoners suffering in the Israeli dungeons?

Hezbullah's goal was to do that, they were forced to capture two soldiers so that they can obtain this goal because Israel refused to retrun those prisoners. And still, Israel's arrogance and blood-thirstiness made them choose war instead of the peaceful solution of exchange of prisoners. What would make a government which its members are children murderers choose peace when they have a (pathetic) excuse for war?

It is not false at all. That is the only reason Israel attacked Hezbollah yesterday. The UN seem incapable of stopping it, just as they have been incapable for 6 years in not preventing Hezbollah to stockpile weapons. Why do you choose to ignore that Hezbollah also violated the ceasefire, indeed, soon after it started and ALSO with the transfer of weapons? They broke the ceasefire first by doing this and so Israel reacted back, naturally. They have also refused to disarm themselves, as the ceasefire demands.

You don't get it do you? It's not just about the soldiers. It's about the 12,000 missiles they have that they have been firing onto Israel for weeks. Hezbollah have been stockpiling weapons under the UN's noses for 6 years and have now finally decided to start using them. This is a war between Israel and Hezbollah, not just over the 2 soldiers, although they are STILL missing.

you make a ceasefire, you stick to it, not "we will keep to it, but then break away when we feel we have an excuse". Leabnon has already expressed its dissapointment at this Israeli operation and calls for them to stick to the cessation of hostilities. At the same time we urge Hezbollah not to be coaxed into this.

And the same goes for Hezbollah; we would not have felt a need to attack Hezbollah terrorists had they not broken the ceasefire first. Note that they decided to carry on with their illegal activities, and Israel warned from the beginning that it will respond to all threats such as this.

Sorry, you may have some military intelligence that the rest of the world has not yet seen/is aware of, but how exactly did Hezbollah break the ceasefire, AFAIK they've stopped the attacks on Northern Israel.

Hezbollah claims to have fired mortars, and not at Northern Israel but at targets in Southern Lebanon. If it was the case that Hezbollah was aiming at Northern Israel, then we condemn this attack, and inform them of the need to stick to this ceasefire.

OOC: let's be serious after weeks of hitting their marks in Northern Israel, do you really think they would have missed so badly that they didnt even cross the border?

That's their job. To point the finger wherever it needs pointing. Israel are probably not wholly snow-white on the humanitarian front; who is? But AI and their equivalent organisations form part of the valuable system of accountability that should in theory keep nations in check. Whether their accusations turn out to have sufficient grounding to be upheld is to a certain extent irrelevant; what matters is that they are on the lookout for humanitarian abuses. And the Bhutan feels it would rather see them over-keen and making too many accusations than under-keen and not caring.

It's just a pity they pick the high-profile examples like Israel and let the really serious offenders, like China and North Korea, off scot free.
