GIRLS who have 'designer' bags

I'm thinking of buying my sister a designer bag (think Prada, D&G, Hermes...) for her 21st birthday.

So...do designer bags last longer than high street in terms of quality?

And is it actually a worthwhile investment or are those brands and their products grossly overrated?

Yes they last longer, but they are really expensive...
Yes they last a lot longer and they are worth it!
I think Prada/Hermes/Miu Miu depending on her taste would be a good choice.

they might well built built but still not worth the hundreds if not thousands hyou pay for them, youre paying solely for the name

I was watching Gok Wan's 'Made in China' and a lot of the designer stuff is actually the same as high street brands, they just slap another label on it.

Why the negative rep? I'm only saying what I saw on TV? Of course designer brands are better than say, Primark but in some cases high street brands are better quality than designer.

I think Mulberry bags are supposed to be excellent quality and made in the UK, stitched by hand.

(Anyone care to tell me whether I am making this up, or whether I'm right???)
I'd go for a Hermes or Mulberry bag, classic

I've never owned a designer bag so can't comment on the quality :ninja:

Oh wait, Syria is what I meant :colondollar: :colone:

I think a classic Chanel one will suit you the most :ahee:
Aww you will look soo cute :h:
Yup. I get through multiple handbags in a few months, simply because they break. Tends to be the zips / straps.

My mum has a collection of Mulberry handbags. They're gorgeous and definitely don't look like breaking any time soon.
I'd go for Mulberry or Miu-Miu. Something classic, discreet and well-made is always an investment. OP is an absolutely adorable brother. Mine just steals my Skittles.
Definitely a Mulberry, owning one is on my bucket list!
The Mulberry Alexa...

Im sure you did :holmes:

Will it make my eyes stand out though? :erm:
Mulberrys are pretty amazing! I really like the alexa.

I think spending that much on a handbag is a little bit daft though unless it really is disposable income. I was thinking of saving up and buying my mum a mulberry handbag for her 50th next year because she loves them and she's always going on about her posh customers who have them but when I ran it past her as a joke she said she'd be really angry if I did that because it would be worth more than her car lol.

Basically... they're very... very.. nice... But... You're paying an awful lot for the name and you can find some really great handbags at TK maxx if you have a proper rummage through the junk. Why not get her one of those? If you have enough money to be able to justify spending £500+ on a handbag then great but if not, I don't think they're really worth saving up for.
