Oxygen debt is caused by anaerobic respiration. It is the oxygen needed to reduce lactate into pyruvate into the Krebs cycle to produce CO2 and H2O.
I am not specifically sure why rod cells are more sensitive but I think it is due to the fact that they can work in dim-light conditions as rhodopsin is a very sensitive pigment to light? :s-smilie:

hmmm u mean OXIDISE lactate into pyruvate..

i think it has to do something with the fact that a bunch of rod cells connect to a single bipolar cell while each cone cell has one bipolar cell..hmmmmmm whatdya think...?!

Ah yeah... silly mistake of me pyruvate is oxidised (i am very tired! lol)
I think that what u said about the bipolar neurone is correct.
How can data be collected in a reliable format?
:s-smilie:

-repeats
-same/similar results

hello  in paragraph 22, page 4 of the scientific article, what is meant by 'withdrawal-like state seen in drug dependence'? really dont understand in the context of the article. thanks!:smile:
Hey can anyone explain to me what they were are trying to say on pages 60 of the SNAB book, the stuff below the heading 'DNA, lice and human evolution' and also on page 55? Both pages are so bludy confusing!

A brief summary would be nice! thankss )
