How many words can you write in 40 minutes?

How many words can you guys as natives write in 40 minutes?

800? or 2000 (dead crazy) ??
Are you including research in this?
Well in my GCSE history exam... 100 mins I wrote 12 pages.

(40/100)*12=4.8

I think I do around 320 words per page.

4.8*320=1536. About 1500 then approximately.

EDIT: Didn't see this was in Law, very different exam styles.. oh well, my 2 cents anyway.

In a 35 minute English GCSE exam I can write around 3 pages, not sure how many words it is though.
Depends, really.

If I've got the research and all that done, I'm sure I could write more than 2000.

Without research...probably about 100.

If I know what I'm doing then around 5-6 pages so up to 1800 words?

But judging by my exam performance the other day.....Not many :|
In an exam? No more than 1200 words. Generally more about 1000.
