Escorting and ESA.

Hi, there,

I have found myself in a pickle and am searching for some advice as I am not at all sure how to sort this one out...

I was put onto housing benefit and ESA a fair few months ago - shortly thereafter I began working as an escort and was earning enough money to start renting a flat alone. I have cancelled the housing benefit, and am not sure what to do about the ESA... How can I cancel this? What can I say should they ask me what I am working as/for? I'm pretty sure that escorting is legal but I'm not 100% on this so I've got no idea how to handle this - but really do not want to get into trouble for benefit fraud, especially as I am now privately renting a flat and do not need the income support at all. I also am on disability benefits, which I am in the process of writing a letter to the council to cancel as I no longer qualify, but with that one I know how to rectify it... it's the ESA I'm stumped with.

Advice?

Thanks!

I don't think escorting is illegal. Just tell them that's what you do?

Jeez, who buys a disabled escort :s-smilie:

Phone up and say you've got a job.

Simples.

You just need to tell them you want to come off it. They don't need to know why.

It is 100% legal and nothing to be ashamed of

THere's no reason for it to be illegal: it's not prostitution, although some escorts do get paid for it  (as you probably know)
