5^2n+4=25

is this the same as 5^2n+4 = 5^2 = 2n+4 = 2 ?

52n+4=25    52n+4=52    2n+4=2 5^{2n+4} = 25 \implies 5^{2n+4} = 5^2 \implies 2n+4 = 2

It is correct, but you should have used brackets while writing the question.

Thanks, what do you mean use brackets?

Does logxy = logpd = xy = pd ?

If the logs have the same base?

I meant write 52n+4=25 5^{2n+4} = 25 as 5^(2n+4)=25.

logxy=logpd    xy=pd logxy = logpd \implies xy=pd

You are correct

I realise you are typing and it is not as easy as using a pen, but your use of equals is wrong.

How can 5^2 equal 2 ?

To be honest, i was slightly disappointed to get 97, i wanted 100, but made a simple mistake in the paper.

Though 97 are still great marks

No.

Getting 100% in C1 doesn't makes you anything, get 100% in STEP then i will say you are awesome.

What marks did you get in all your other units and what is STEP?

I was sensible enough to not expand 2^30.

This was the question: x(2x14)4 x(2x^{- \frac14})^4

You look very optimistic about STEP, does anybody ever scores full in all STEP papers?

If you do it your legacy on TSR will live forever!

Have a look at my TSR profile, to see my marks.

STEP is a difficult maths exam usually taken by students who want to study maths at cambridge/warwick.

Aha  Ah you need to get ones like that

Oh no I'm completely putting it on here I'm not very optimistic and certainly not that optimistic  I think there are usually a handful of people who get full marks or just drop 1 or 2 marks.
I love how a simple c1 question has turned in to this relatively large thread lol
