these are a few possible questions..

1) Explain what is meant by reducing biodiversity.
2) Explain the importance of maintaining biodiversity.
3) Explain how scientists could establish that the ducks are different species.
4) The number of invasive species has increased by 75% since 1982. How many invasive species have been introduced to Europe since then?
5) Suggest why scientists believe Europe wide laws are necessary to protect native species.
6) Evaluate biological control.

thank you this is so helpful, does anyone have any more? do you have the answers for these ones?

welcome
my answers:

1) Reducing biodiversity means to reduce the number of different species in the environment
2) It is important as we use animals for medicine and research
3) If the animals mate to produce fertile species then they are from different species. Also, look at their DNA
4) (600 x 0.75) = 450 invasive species introduced
5) If there are laws on what is allowed into the country, then there is less introduction of new invasive species that can endanger native species and migrate.
6) Good: controls invasive species
Bad: have to introduce yet another unknown species into a country
could have a negative effect on food chains

hope this helps

What questions do you reckon will come up for Biology? HEELLLPPPP!

Idk. Wait. I am currently doing maths :frown:
Ok You guys need resources??
Please give me some reputation. :P :L
And look at this stuff for IIC. Trust me if you revise this i guarantee you good marks. Hope you guys like it!

I think the physics exam went well! How did you do?

Generally the people who have an interest in the subject said it was a good exam, and the people who don't like it said it didn't go so well

Check out my resources :P

When revising for science, it's key to know what you're coming up against.
I should know, I was the only one on studentroom who found the AQA physics exam easy...
Despite what your teachers may say, do not revise just through past papers,
they're only useful as a sum up of knowledge towards the end of your revision.
Look through the specification points.. they're really useful and you can tell what you need
to learn and what to revise!

why are virus' bad in the human body? and why are they hard to treat?
what is a ornamental species?
how do alien species reduce biodiversity?
what contributes to the cost of invasive species?
what does the change in graphs about harlequin ladybirds suggest?
Ughhh.. biology >.<

Here are some questions bound to come up in the exam... Reps would be good

1) What is meant by the term "biodiversity"?
2) Other than introduction of an "alien invader" state 3 other threats to biodiversity.
3) Name 3 invasive species mentioned in the text.
4) If 600 alien invasive species were identified in Europe 30 years ago, and the number has increased by 75% since then, how many alien invasive species are there now?
5) Suggest how the Harlequin ladybird is threatening biodiversity in Europe
6) Make a conclusion based on the data shown in the map diagrams.
7) Suggest how the data in the map diagrams may have been collected.
8) Make a comment about how reliable you think data in the diagram might be.
9) Name another disease for which a mosquito is a vector.
10) Explain why most people in the UK would not be immune to the virus carried by the virus carried by the Asian tiger mosquito.
11) Viruses are pathogens. Name 2 other types of micro-organisms that can cause disease.
12) Scientists think that increased international travel might be causing the spread of the Asian tiger mosquito. Suggest how climate change might also contribute to the spread of mosquito.
13) Below is a food chain including a lady-bird species.

Oak leaf -> greenfly -> Ladybird -> Robin -> Sparrowhawk

a) Which organism can be described as an autotroph?
b) Which organism can be describes as carnivores?

Just about to start revision for Biology, been putting it off for sheer boredom....

Physics exam was effectively art, given how many diagrams were needed! I tell you, through all my revision, the one diagram I found impossible to draw was Retrograde Motion. I don't know why, but the lines just wouldn't work out! And guess what came up.... Oh well, I just eschewed drawing the diagram, and it was all right hopefully...
