Nooo don't think its not so good cus its tiny, thats one of the great things about Aston I applied for Birmingham and Manchester unis and declined them because of their size at Aston u r more than just a number like u would be at bigger unis and every time I walk around campus i always see someone i know its like a little community it makes u feel like ur at home instead of in a massive bucket of people its a plus!!! im graduating soon and i have loved my time here and most importantly I have a well paid/good company in sept to join which has made all the hard work worth it  I advise you to come!!!!

I went on the Open day yesterday 8th March. I went to one of the New Residences (I think it was called James Watt Residence?) it was pretty awesome - room with quite a bit of space for storage and en-suite toilet/shower. I also went to Lakeside and Stafford tower.

Lakeside: Cheaper than James Watt Residence and also en-suite. (I'm probably applying here for my accommodation)

Stafford: LOL. It was so dirty! There was a bathtub with dirtmarks and scales...smelt funny too. Each room has its own sink, which I find rather weird. Defo avoiding this place.

-----------------

Aston is a pretty nice place overall. It has its own optometrist, dentist and day hospital. They have an on-site hair salon! The gym facilities are huge and it had a swimming pool built last year I think - and everyone is required to shower to 'keep the water the freshest it can be.' I think the tour guide said for a year (although can't be exact):

Gym - £140
Gym, swim, steam+sauna - £160
Gym, swim, steam+sauna, classes - £180

Events at Aston looked pretty cool too ^_^

Summary: Aston = so good. Employment rates of graduates is in the high 80's %. If anyone lives in London, I think you'll find the area Aston is based in feels very similar to London. (Although I did think their clothes weren't as good :[ ) There's also a nice mix ethically if anyone was curious about that - saw plenty of all asians, blacks, whites etc etc.

(I ended up walking to Birmingham Uni instead of Aston by accident...they were so close to each other!)

I think i will be applying for lakeside too  Defiantly dont want to be in Stafford!

When you looked at lakeside did you find the layout of the rooms weird? the one i saw had the kitchen on the top floor with 2 rooms, and the rest of the rooms on different floors underneath. Though it was slightly odd!
