Bad news for French immigrants
Sarkozy is a xenophobic scumbag. He's obviously now going to whore himself out to banks and make speeches for millions of euros.
Goodbye France.

Does this mean that we regain the position of ally number 1 with America?

You're clinching at the tiny chance that Sarkozy might pass Hollande while he is already making his leaving speech

Hardcore UMP eh?:colonhash:

Oui !

Oh well, Switzerland, here I come :h:

Well I have a nice place set up in Genève... like hell I'll live in a Socialist France.

Hollande me paraît intègre et de bonne intentions avec une attitude positiviste. Sarkozy sème la peur et la panique pour récolter ses votes.
Also aren't people afraid he'll try and set something up with the communist party...?
glad that little **** is out of office.

Hollande will **** France over, so glad I can relocate to Suisse until he leaves office and we get the UMP back in :h:

What is that quote by Sarkozy in your sig referring to?

What's so bad about him?

He wants to re-negotiate the Fiscal Compat.

Wow that's a pretty big deal...

So basically there's increased Eurozone instability for a while?

...within Europe.
I've noticed that the British left and right are generally siding with their respective French counterparts, despite the discrepancy in policy and governing style. Hollande's most similiar British counterpart who has held a fairly high position is probably Ken Livingstone. Much more of a leftist than Blair/Brown/Miliband. Likewise Tories have seemed to side with Sarko on the basis of his economic policy despite his quite frankly homophobic and xenophobic social policy. This comes as Cam says he wants to legalise gay marriage in Britain.

Same difference. Switzerland is just like the UK and relies alot on the Eurozone. So perhaps Merkozy is dead but long live Merlande!!!

We'll see how the markets react..but yeah youre probably right.
Dont forget that Greece are having elections atm..and the two biggest pro-austerity parties are taking an ass-kicking atm! That will complicate the austerity pact for sure

Well, for a start he's French.

Secondly he tried to be Tony Blair in regards to strengthening ties with the Americans, or rather, kissing American ass. Thirdly, he made some quite disparaging remarks about the UK during euro-zone crises negotiations.

Most of the Eurozone leaders are happy apart from Merkel since he will fight for less austerity and more growth. Hence it will be easier for them to get reelected

No he has not. He has been projected as the winner, not the winner!

I know next to nothing about French politics, but has a projection ever proved to be wrong?
Won 51.9% of the vote apparently.

Pretty close stuff. :s-smilie:
