£56.40 but I've bought something online recently and it hasn't taken the money yet for some reason.

£69

Do you genuinely have £69 in your bank account or is this a blatent and, frankly, unfunny sexual reference?

Savings for uni: £1500.

Rolling in it!!

Current account:26p

Selling my car soon so that should fetch me at least £1000 which I'll be putting aside. I should be getting around £700 at the end of August from working full time (as long as the weathers decent) so I'll have a decent amount to take to uni with me, but for now I'm broke as ****.

I am 16 and I have got about £12,000 cash in two cash ISAs (one in my name, one in my mum's) although the money in there is mine. Also about £6,000 in goods/stock which I have bought.
When I was around 14 I started a small business importing electronics from China and then re-selling online, and that's how I earnt my 'fortune' - also no tax paid which saved me some money. I also sell a little bit on gumtree, which saves me money as its free to list.
I don't really have any expenses like food, gas, rent etc. so I guess that helped me to save a bit.

edit: why the negs?

What sort of electronics did you sell and did you sell them on eBay?

As of now after a hefty pay check from work:
£4,933.82  Was very pleased!

I forgot all about that roll over thingy... damn...
If it was anything like last week though, I wouldn't have gotten chance to have gotten a ticket. The queues were huge.

I really cannot understand why some of you are so far into your overdrafts, surely you can get part time jobs.

Not attacking you for this, but it's quite an ignorant comment.

I could not have worked more hours when at uni, short of asking God himself to give us more daylight hours, so trust me when I say it is possible to max out your overdraft whilst working! The money from my 60+ hour weeks would disappear on rent, bills, lending my mum money, etc. I had to pay rent contributions at home, too, else I wasn't allowed back. And I needed to go back to work!

I lived on ~£50 a week living (incl food, socialising, etc). I was completely financially independent, so when something went wrong I needed to fix it! Sometimes I'd have a buffer in my account from wages but often I'd rely on my overdraft to bail me out. It's why they offer such a large interest free overdraft...

My £2,000 overdraft was used for unexpected expenses (emergency trips home, a return could cost £50 easily); job interviews (clothes, train fare, etc); printing; laptop repair. I now pay it off with my wages monthly and will never have to pay a penny's interest on the thing! I'm incredibly grateful they provide it as without it I most likely would have left uni and worked at a 'standard' job.
