Going for a chest x-ray tomorrow...

What do I wear? I'm mostly thinking because I assume that I won't be able to wear my underwired bra for it?

Should I take a sports bra to wear instead, or will I be expected to be completely undressed on the top? I have had a chest x-ray before, but it was yeaaaaars ago, and Idon't think I even wore bras at the time...

Also, I'm going for a blood test as well, do we think I should go to the blood test place first, or the x-ray place first?

EDIT: Had the X-ray and blood test, but I now have an ECG on tuesday! WHat do I wear for that? I remember when I was a kid I was naked apart from pants for that... is that the case for adults?

Wear nothing, problem solved.
I'd take a sports bra to be on the safe side. I don't they'd ask you to take it off anyway because the x ray is quite powerful.

Even if they do ask you to take it off you usually have a changing room so you can change then wear the gown on top of it.

I think the blood test would happen when it can, it doesn't really matter which one happens first

Don't wear anything with beads/buttons on it. I wouldn't bother with the sports bra as
you'll more that likely be put in a changing room and have to take everything from the waist up off then you will be given a hospital disposable gown to put on.

The chest x-ray will only take about 3 mins to do but its irrelevant which you get first.

If its just an Xray they can do it through anything FABRIC. But as someone said, no buttons etc. I had mine done through a tshirt.

General rule no metal/silver. You can wear whatever you want because they can give you a hospital gown to put on when you're there but again should be no problemo with wearing your own tshirts. Don't worry, you won't be fully nude in front of the radiographer!!

They will probably ask you to take off whatever bra you're wearing as they'll still be able to see the clips on a sports bra. You'll get a hospital gown or scrubs top to wear, but can probably keep a plain t-shirt on underneath.
Lol, it doesn't matter what you wear, you have to take everything off and wear a gown.
When I had mine I had to take everything off and wear a gown, but honestly don't worry about it, they've seen it all before and have to deal with it on a daily basis :-).

i had one about 2 years ago where you stand in the room and face the machine, you change your clothes into the hospital gown just before you go in, in a special allocated changing area and yep have to take the bra off so nothing obstructs on top
have the blood test first it takes longer
good luck!x

im doing work experience with a radiographer atm and been doing so for the past 6 months...i seen TOOOONNNNNSSSSSS of chest xrays...

the best thing to do is wear a sports bra (that doesnt have any metal clips or anything innit does it?....im a guy..so im not 100% sure and i cant be asked to google it lol)

dont wear any necklaces ...best to remove any peircings...(on your chest area)....(ive seen some weird and wonderful things lol)

wear something thin (like a tshirt) they might not need you to take your clothes off then

but what would probably happen is that the radigrapher will escort you to a room....get you into a gown....zap you.....and you get changed again....it will take literally 5 minutes...

have fun

oh ya and it doesnt matter which one you do first....either is fine....

Thankyou, but I already had it done haha.

Yep, was much quicker than I remembered it being last time! Literally had just stood in the right place and she sent me out to wait for her to check the x-ray.

I just wore normal clothes for my ECG. They just lifted my top up, didn't have to remove my bra or anything!
