i wish i'd looked around before choosing storthes hall

most of my lectures are at the first street building. if i'd chosen little aspley or firth point then i woulda been able to roll outta bed, cross the street then arrive at lectures.

The bus on the way back to storthes takes the p***.

how you guys finding it at little aspley and firth point??

my plan was to find a place with mates in the 2nd year but having a place so close to uni might tempt me to firth street accom

he's not my room mate, he lives a few flats away from me

i haven't had any major problems yet, but there are a few things that are bothering me like, the reception is always closed and the cleaners never come round, plus the internet is crap quality for the money. oh, and the fact that the fire alarm has gone off 3 times this morning

overall i'm glad i chose here as it's so close to the uni and town centre, so coming home on a night isn't very hard, lol.
Well living on Firth Street does have good and bad point.
I only choose here because it less that 10min away from my building; CE.

I was very disapointed :frown: in my room as I have a bedside cabinet and draw under the bed missing, when turning on the heater is smell like it on fire.
We were also missing our vac, and no BBC2 plus there more.
(Tell me if you want a lists)
We recently had the water supply cut off but only for one night and there was a emengery water supply tap on. So we were ok.
Unluckly for my room mate as they went to a bubbles party that night and didn't get wash. Which I believe is funny.
I live next to the street which is VERY noisy  at 6AM, there my alarm. Yes I'm ALWAY up at 6am cause we got the street clearner coming in and the *beep*beep*beep*beep*beep* is loud. However I can't get enought sleep as my room mates are out everynights and come back loud around 2am.
Normally I fast alsleep  but the banging of the door alway wake me up.
Beside that we ok.

Our recepition is normally close but if there anything wrong you normally got to go to Aspley Hall to get it sorted out.

I wanna move in with some mates in 2nd year too, but I having problem to get know people.

Have you heard about some student at Little Aspley throwing rubbish into the street in the middle of the night?

yes i think Firth street is a bit of a nightmare yet it does have its good points.
Me and Pete live in different blocks but do get together socialise quite often.
For example ive been out with Pete tonight but come home early because im quite pissed:wink:
Firth Street is so close to uni you have no excuse to miss lectures
and is across the road fromm various suppermarkets which include a new Netto and Iceland and sainsburys. the kingsgate centre is a minutes walk away also. However my room backs on to a path which is used by drunken revellers till all hours of the night which makes it very hards to sleep with the window open. Firth point is 21 quid cheaper a week than Storthes hall which is a huge advantage. Disadvantges include theres no cleaners , the flatt was hanging when i moved in and the residents dont mingle and have houseparties like those at Storthes.
I have friends at Storthes hall and they say there flats are small and have no lounge and the buses are a nightmare.
We pay 20 quid less and get a huge lounge and fitted kitchen, 5 mins from the uni and health centre.
However we dont have the sense of community like at Storthes:biggrin:
sorry for the long winded comment but im feeling quite wrecked!
goodnigt god bless!

Strewth! I shouldn"t have posted that so many times!
Please excuse me
What a bell end! lol:redface:
:tsr2: WOW, You must have been very piss. I just got back from Camel.
And just checking my work before I hand it in this morning.
Off to sleep in a min.
it was a combination of tiredness and drink and the fact that our internet
is crap for the money we pay.
I would have been alright except the people in the flat below set the fire alarm off at 4 .30 am on thursday night meaning i had a broken sleep pattern
which ****ed me over for my 9 15 lecture.
As soon as i had a few drinks last night i started yawning!:frown:

ian, where did you end up? we eventually got to revolution then went onto camel club which was ****ing brilliant! got myself an 11" pizza from somewhere on the way home too, it didn't taste as nice as papa johns though, lol. got home around 4am
I was in revolution then just as we were walking to camel i got a text off Tom to say he was in Shout. At that precise moment i got handed a flyer by someone saying that all bottles in Shout were 99p.
Needless to say it swayed my decision!
Shout was dead but quite a laugh.
I found out this morning its the second Gay mans hotspot next to the New Union in Huddersfield. Its quite funny really because i remember looking round at these two blokes and thinking "God they seem a little overfriendly with each other" now i know why! lol:biggrin:
Coincidentally me and Tom went to Papa Johns on the way home and to my utter devastation
it was shut.We had to make do with a pizza from another place which was quite nice but didnt
come close to "The Daddys" standards lol!
lol, anyone going out tonight? me and my room mates are out celebrating as one of us now work at ...................................Tesco.
i think were goiing to the union to laugh at the Orcs doing kareoke!
r u going to join in?
doubt it the song list is utter gash.
Its just funny to watch other people slaughter pop classics.
I hate pop music but if he had some rock classics i would give it a go:wink:
I off in a min, first stop; Shout, off to see is it quiet.
Next I think is Tokyo.
Don't care where. I nomally I follow my room mates.
