You'd be suprised how many papers you need. Thankfully we get them cheaper on campus. Guardian has the most paper on the day, and we had about 6 of them :biggrin:

Why didn't you just grab a trolley and grab a whole batch of Boars? That's free!

Whitefields has rooms that are strange shapes too so that might be how they manage to fit the rooms in.

I know of a few people who put Westwood down on thier forms but are living in Rootes. Oh the madness of Warwick accomodation. I often think that it doesn't matter what you put on your form as they will ignore you.

I guess so but most people i heard either get their first choice and rarely people get their second. I picked Claycroft as my first and I got Claycroft, I think most of those problems arise with people picking Westwood and from people that I heard they had westwood as their 3 choice or something and they still ended up in westwood, i didn't even put westwood down so lucky for me.

ps: I think I should take pictures of Claycroft since no one here seems to be talking about Claycroft I will upload some of them soon since my digi camera got killed when I was playing beer pong

no its really not, im having a frigging awesome time at westwood... PLUS it will be even better for you lot next year because of course you'll have Westwood Ents doing stuff! (shameless plug).

At least you needn't be worried about not getting your desired accommodation... if you put westwood as first choice you'll have the accommodation office throwing a party just as quickly as they throw yours onto the 'living in westwood' pile.. :wink:

Although, its probably a long walk to the nearest Boar drop off from westwood. Being in Knightcote Hall costcutters is only across the road!

If you want to apply, apply. I am there and loving it, as is everyone in my hall. Its one of the most sociable halls, and all the people running for student positions next year at the student union all said that when they came around (unless they said it to everyone!). But it really is. You wont regret it, you get used to 'the walk', and it isn't really much of a walk. I often leave 10 minutes before a lecture starts and still make it (walking with people).

The only people who will slag it off is people who (a) havent been there (b) judge it because of 'the walk' but probably have never done that walk before. Anyhow, its great, and the walk just adds to the socialising, as it's nice to have a conversation before/after lectures on the way there/home.

Is lakeside really as.. dead as most people are making it out to be? :confused:

Also, i want an accommodation which isn't unsociable [people have to be able to come out of their room and hang out in the kitchen :p:

First question: Yes.

Second question: Probs AV or JM... tho to be honest noone is going to force you to drink or go out and party. So I don't see how that can be a criteria unless you don't want others that dont drink/party as well.

Lakeside has such a nice view its like in a quiet remote area, i mean it really depends what one makes of the place. a friend of mine lives there and she tries to go out a lot and always meets new people so it really depends how one makes of life there but in general i haven't seen a group in her kitchen lol

i have a friend in lakeside who is the single biggest piss-head i know at warwick, and thats saying something. I've been over to his a fair few times for 'parties', the first of which was ok, and every one since never happened. It really is dead, I've never seen anyone around there except that once in the first term, and although my mate likes it well enough, he hates how anti-social it is.

So you could live there and just go out, but its nice to have parties in your hall too...

Its true. Which is why there are only ever a handful of oldies around to answer the questions of the next lot. But thats the way it always has been.

Last year at Durham, the oldies kept it going and we had a really strong community, with TSR socials regularly. Ho hum!

Yeah once you start uni, very few still use TSR! I however am a loser what can I say. No friends etc... except facebook ones. Got lots of those. Facebook will become your new TSR :p:
