UKCAT - Practice Questions and Useful Resources

Last updated: 16/6/11

Here are some links to free questions that are similar to those that come up in the UKCAT, or at least provide practice for those skills tested in the UKCAT. Some are more relevant that others, but I hope that they will give you a general feel and some practice for each of the subtests. If you come across any more sites that I have not included or any broken/incorrect/repeated links, do post and I shall update the list and +rep you. Recently added posts are highlighted. Good luck everyone

This thread has now been integrated into the UKCAT section of the Medicine TSR wiki and is therefore no longer a sticky :frown:  This includes a list of universities that use the UKCAT and how they use it, and can be found here.

WHEN IS THE LATEST ONE CAN SIT THE UKCAT???  Am thinking of applying for a voucher to pay for the test. Does anyone know how long that can take??:dontknow:
Reply 17
I tried booking a test and realised that i can sit it as late as 24th Sept but the fee goes up to £75. Don't know coz I was told I had to do before Sept. And is there a book I can use to revise. I dnt like the practice questions it takes too long and you can't resume if you ran out of time. Am even thinking of not revising at all and just do the test. What are u expected to get ?? Marks or just pass or fail?

I.star, stop panicking!

You must register for the test before 26 Sept. You can register online, here: http://www.pearsonvue.com/ukcat/capva/
The last testing date is 10 Oct. It doesn't matter when you do the test: some people recommend as early as possible so that you can still consider and change your mind before applying via UCAS for medicine, others say that it is better to sit it later as it gives you more time to prepare. Personally, I sat mine in the last week of testing, mainly because I'm an unorganized oaf? There are several books available, see the list above. You can buy these in good bookshops. I would definately recommend practicing as much as you can! You will feel more confident and will know what to expect. There are some questions on the UKCAT website that are not timed for you to download: http://www.ukcat.ac.uk/downloads/UKCATPracticeQuestions-NoTimeLimit.exe
The average scores are between 500-700 for each section. You get points for right answers and nothing for wrong answers. It is explained on the UKCAT website, take your time and look around it. And try to relax, everyone else is in the same boat
Where are the questions on that site? LOL! :p:
