UMS for coursework
40 is 100
34 is 90.... naturally 37, being the middle mark = 95 UMS, I presume that the very most 38 raw could be 96...

That isn't necessarily true. Someone said it was 37+/40 = 100UMS
Then 36= 95

on chem ive got 44/50 43/50 and 34/40 for course work
biology i got 48/50,44/50 and 34/40
in physics i got 43/50 43/50 and 35/40

could you tell me what i need to get for each please
seems like your the UMS guru :P

Well, I did biology and physics for you..
Your chemistry: (270-48-44-90= 88 UMS) A very high A needed..
Not hard for C7 grade boundaries considering it's such a hard topic..
thanks alot man made me feel much better about my exams

How UMS is actually calculated is the total number of UMS is divided by the total number of raw and then that number is multipled by the amount more raw you got than that grade boundary, then you add the total to that UMS boundary..
For example: If you get 37 11 UMS points, 7 raw marks (you count the top marks aswell) 11/7 = 1.57... x 3 (2 raw above 34) = 4.7....
4.7 + 90 = 94.7 which is rounded to 95 UMS

Im scared, i got an A in 123 and an A* in my coursework and 456 but i have a feeling im gonna mess up in this exam, ive been getting A*s in the past papers even with out doing the ideas in context section but one or two papers are really really difficult.

Still not always the case from what I have seen. Like sometimes, I have taken test papers where it was for example, 32/40 for an A*- but 36-40=100 UMS. It varies, and UMS is by no means exactly on scale.

It's scary. It's suprising how important your coursework is. The chances are I got a crap mark, we had to redo our coursework in a matter of hours......

Thank youu soo muchh... but I still have to revise ALOTT :frown:

I'm sure you'll be fine! you don't need to get a magnificent grade to get an A* overall! And the grade boundaries are low especially for GCSE so you'll be fine!

Good luck!
