Media and Sociology offer

Hi All,

My girlfriend got an offer for Media and Socilogy BA course at Goldsmith and I wanted to collect opinions about this uni and this particular degree.

Would you say Media studies at Goldsmith are worth the money in comparison t other unis across the country (it's 7.5k now...)? In general, do these departments are renowned within the UK and abroad?

Goldsmiths is a UK average University, and it doesn't carry much weight if any abroad. In regards to the degree choice it's not a particularly strong one to do - i'd suggest taking media and English or just straight media as a joint honors in what are considered 'soft subjects' isn't very good.

P.S I'm not slagging off Sociology by the way, as it's what I have applied to this year.

Cheers, hopefully she'll like it. Anyone knows what the timetable looks like on that particular course - how many hours of the week you REALLY need to be in the library or at Uni in general?
